Trying to buy my daughter her first mechanical keyboard — need advice

How does she feel about Legos? https://kbdcraft.store/products/adam This is a serious board with QMK firmware, using the VIAL extension (the better option for QMK management), but you build the case out of Legos and it's mounted with foam gaskets that attach to blocks and support the plate. Other mo

Are these good keyboards ?

No, they are bottom of the line boards with proprietary firmware and no virtues whatsoever. Get this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/RK-ROYAL-KLUDGE-Mechanical-Ultra-Compact/dp/B089GN2KBT It's not a premium board, but it has QMK firmware, which also not only makes it the most adaptable board in the pr

Any plans for a K6 QMK?

The Q4 is tray mount so won't have the loose switch issues. South facing, though. North-facing options: Skyloong GK61 QMK/VIA * ($54) Royal Kludge RK61 QMK/VIA * ($40) The GK61 is GH60-compatible (proof) and has a default layout with mod/tap arrows. The RK61 has a crappy default layout but this fixes

please help a keyboard newbie to buy correctly

Get a QMK board so you don't get "helpful" keyboard software preventing you from changing "system" keys. Particularly for a 60% board because you can use mod-tap to create a virtual arrow cluster. Any QMK board has 1k polling. Faster than that doesn't really help. For a magnetic board the best optio

Is Redragon good now?

Open box means it was opened and returned. Maybe some light use. My Galaxy 100 was used from Amazon, but basically brand new. The Monsgeek looked like it was brand new, as well. No issues with my F75. I gave it to a friend and he loves it. He games in his living room with it. I had some issues with

“nooo my keyboard needs to have the numberpad or it's not a real keyboard” > “never actually uses the numpad”

GenXer here. My first computer was a vic20, xmas 1981. The 75% keyboard is superior... And those with a volume knob, like the RK Royal Kludge m87. The tiny screen and extra knob for settings is also superior. Change from mac to PC quickly, along with connection types, and more. I use autohotkey for

help me decide

RK is meh. I suggest get mo nalng AULA 75. It sounds way way better than Royal kludge. There's a reason why AULA is highly recommended as best budget board

Coders / gamers of Lebanon i want ur advise AND recommendations about keyboards.

Check RK Royal Kludge, more affordable than Keychron, great quality. Silent switches are nice and not noisy. Battery lasts 2 weeks+ if backlights are set to turn on on click only.
