For a small device, I would recommend the reMarkable Paper Pro Move. However, the closed system is an issue. Other than that, I think it is a very good device. If you want the other third party app to use the Boox has android system, which might be better.

Just a question. Since 2017, I have a RM1 and it’s still functioning with updates in 2026 and some folks are still using theirs daily. A different brand device in 2017, is it still functioning and updating now? Then they said RM1 was expensive at about £500. The other brands were about £300 to £400,
