Not happy with Core One quality (Mini+ Comparison)
Good morning, Certainly I bought the Prusa Core One assembled and I agree with the mediocre quality of the first benchy. Then I did it again, prioritizing quality over speed and now I have a superb impression. All my prints are successful ((except 3 which I stopped, error on my part on parameters) i

3D Printing parts question
For "functional" parts you want an FDM (fused deposition modeling) printer. Resin prints are generally weaker and print volumes are usually much smaller. I'd suggest at least a 250x250x250mm build volume, but I suspect some parts will want something even larger. You'll need something that can handle

About to buy Qidi Q1 Pro, add-ons?
I'm planning on doing a full guide of all the cool things to add to your Qidi Q1 Pro that I've found over the last few months, but here's a quick list of things I've liked: The extra extruder fan (https://qidi3d.com/products/q1-pro-extruder-expansion-fan) is probably worth it. I'd recommend getting

3D printer this Black Friday for Mechatronics Student?
Bambulab is great, the P1S is a proven printer. It doesn't come with a chamber heater but is enclosed. It's the easiest to use for sure. I've heard many recommendations for the Elegoo Centauri Carbon for a lower budget. I own a Qidi Q1 Pro, and its been great. Much cheaper, comes with a chamber heat

What are good open source printers these days? (Preferably budget friendly, but upgradable)
If your experience is with an Ender you might be overvaluing upgradability. I don't worry so much about open source as I do about being able to do what I want with my printer. Pretty much anything besides Bambu is ultra low risk for every becoming some kind of subscription based print system. Even B

What typical problems/questions you have in mind in 3d printing?
Personally I use a QIDI Q1 Pro and love it due to the ease of having a heated chamber and being able to pretty much print any material. I did preorder the Anycubic Kobra X for multi color bed slinging after setting up a Kobra 3 v2 Combo for my sister. Then a Saturn 4 16k Resin printer and two laser

Advice on Filament for engineering
I haven’t tried anything myself personally aside from cc3d 72D TPU transparent, and I’d say the layer bonding isn’t quite what normal TPU can get you but it’s probably 75-80% of the way there, much better than PETG for sure. I’m actually going to be printing some random bits and bobs using nylon tri

$600 Budget. Qidi vs Bambu
I went for the qidi q1 pro. For $400 I'm very impressed. It's handled everything I've thrown at it and user error aside I've had nothing but great prints with every material I've used.

What is your favorite filament brand and type?
Personally I love Elegoo's PLA Plus. It has good prices and works very well on my Qidi Q1 Pro!
