Book Shelf speaker buying advice under $150 (US)
If you consider going powered, the PreSonus Eris E4.5 sounds great for something around $150 a pair. Biggest downside is no remote control volume, but connected to something like a WiiM with preamp volume control, would work well.

Monitor speaker size for a 10x10 room?
What's your budget? You want small near field monitors. 4.5" would suffice. PreSonus Eris E4.5 are great bang for buck for entry level
