Good set up for a beginner?

Those small basic entry level $150 starter speakers are often paired with the bare minimum $150 AT-LP60X. Spend more on the speakers and less on the turntable since once you have a good turntable it's the speakers that are going to make the most difference for great sound.

As Polk XT15

Do I need an amplifier with LP70X?

Check the brand and model of the old speakers and report back! Pass on the small basic entry level 4" Edifier R1280DBs for $199 that are often paired with the bare minimum AT-LP60X. Also since you will have the Yamaha AV receiver you can get passive speakers instead of powered speakers such as the E

this is what i planned to get for my setup are these good/recommended?

You're missing a phono preamp and pass on those Klipsch speakers. What are the room dimensions? ------- Fluance RT82 Onkyo stereo receiver with built in phono preamp https://www.adorama.com/ontx8220.html 5.25" Polk XT15 speakers https://www.crutchfield.com/S-f3mQ2RtiuvA/p_107MXT15/Polk-Audio-Monitor

First Turntable!

The Fluance to buy is the better RT82 that adds a speed sensor for lower wow and flutter and speed variation and the speed won't drift over time. The older RT80, RT81 and the RT81+ don't have the speed sensor. Pass on Fluance speakers. If you want powered speakers then 5.25" Neumi BSP5 $219 plus a $

1500 dollars set up

If I was starting again I'd go with Fosi components. You can start with a ZA3 amp, ( maybe a Fosi X5 phono preamp if you don't have a built in line out on your turntable). You could go with the Audio technica LP120 and not need an external phono preamp. Or get the nicest Fluance turntable you can af

Seeking advice on speaker purchase

Hey there! If you can bump your budget up a bit to $279 (or get a good deal on used, open box or refurb) I'd pick up the Polk Audio XT20, but if not then I'd go with the XT15's. Here's some info that might be helpful: https://www.polkaudio.com/en-us/category/monitor-xt-series/ https://www.youtube.co

No Emmys here- but here is my collection after a year and a half. I also made a randomized playlist of the entire collection

Thanks! They're Polk XT70's. I started with the XT15's after trying a few others and fell in love with the sound, so I upgraded to these for the bigger sound, while staying in that line and have been extremely satisfied with them.

Looking for good budget powered speakers (<$150)

Vanguard Caldera 10 is a highly regarded subwoofer for $200, add a set of Polk XT15 speakers for $150 and a nice little amp like the Fosi BT20A for $100 and you have a nice clear 2.1 system with solid bass for $450

Help required - Gift for my other half

We currently use a yamaha RX-V793 with a ENERGY ESW-8 sub and some small ENERGY speakers for our tv. Can any of this be repurposed? Yes, do this for better sound. You can now or later replace two of the small (2", 2.5" or 3") Energy satellite passive speakers with a pair of better larger 5.25" or 6.
