H10 HRM for swimming
The problem is that Bluetooth does not transmit in water. You have to use a device that can save to memory and then look at your heart rate data after uploading your session. It’s the same with ANT+. In your case, you would use Polar Beat to start a recording to the H10 memory, and then upload the r

Do any of you use a HR monitor while swimming?
I’m not convinced I get any real value from knowing heart rate during swims, but Polar’s Verity Sense comes with a clip that attaches the sensor to your goggles and measures heart rate from your temple. It works perfectly (and even counts laps).

Is the verity sense accurate when it comes to weight training?
First and foremost, you need to understand that calories are not counted by the heart rate monitor itself, but by the Polar algorithm. What you receive from the monitor is simply the heart rate reading. The most precise measurements come from a chest strap. The Verity Sense uses an optical sensor, w

Chest strap worth it and any recommendations
I agree with altered, chest straps are mandatory if you are planning to program/train based on the readings. As a long time strength and conditioning coach and weekend warrior, I keep a number of devices (they last a long long time) to maintain accurate measurement. My #1 is the polar h10, which I've

Heart Rate Pace Pro vs Coospo
I am finding heart rate pretty ok although I do not trust optical sensors and always use an external heart rate monitor. After reading your post, I did some hill intervals (climbing on 11% average grade hills). I used a Garmin Epix paired with a Polar Verity Sense, the Pace Pro on my left wrist and

Doubt whether to buy
That’s exactly how I use my Polar Loop. I wear my V3 for training sessions, and when I get home I synch it, turn it off (saves battery life), and put on my Loop for the rest of the day. Since the latest firmware updates I have found the Loop’s heart rate tracking and sleep tracking to be flawless. A

Am I gonna die?
Polar H9 Chest strap. I used to use verity sense or my apple watch, both are optical sensors but they're not great for tracking boxing or other HIIT workouts. They lag so much and misses a lot of heart rate spikes. Only problem with the chest strap is that it's pretty uncomfortable for me. But they'

Homemade or aftermarket armband?
I totally get this, I just get frustrated when people talk down to others, so I apologise if you feel I've been following you around but it is not fair to criticise and accuse people of wanting a "fashion accessory" when the information you're providing is based primarily on people's online complain

Goodbye Polar – My farewell review of the Polar Pacer Pro
After years of using Garmin I moved to Polar earlier this year. Polar was the only option that with watch plus sensors could properly cover my sports. Running with pacer pro plus chest strap and football (soccer) training and league games with recording feature of Verity Sense/OH1. Also I give the s

Abnormal high heart rate in first seconds of a run
Cadence lock. The "heart rate" is actually your running cadence. It's a problem for all wrist-worn optical heart rate sensors, some more than others. It's also an individual issue: some folks never have the problem, while others have it constantly. Possible fixes, not necessarily mutually exclusive:
