I loved Polar. But Garmin simply works.

My current Polar (Grit X) is also my last Polar watch. The technology is constantly playing up and customer service is virtually non-existent.

What's the typical lifespan for Polar watches?

Polar Grit X Pro: 4 years, daily use. The sensor started to get unreliable, the screen got dimmer, some buttons started to stick... It was just time to retire the watch.

Polar VV3 firmware update 4.3.0

The firmware update has crashed my Polar Grit X2 Pro: the watch keeps rebooting. I have opened a ticket at Polar’s support and I am waiting for their feedback…

Polar Flow Major Overhaul

Wish list:* better integration with Apple Watch and iPhone, especially health data. A workout from Apple Watch should federate into polar flow and vice versa. * resolve the glitchy polar fitness tests and sleep tracking. They are the reason for using the watch - to have that telemetry. They are failin

Watch restarted during race why??

Had the same thing with my Suunto 9. It occurred more often after that and then the battery died. I also had the same on my Polar Grit X. But there it turned out a button was a little stuck.

Pacer pro back cover missing

I had problems with my Polar Pacer Pro – the magnets that hold the charger fell out of the watch. Shortly after that, the watch stopped charging completely and ended up in the bin. Later I bought a Polar Grit X2 Pro. After four months, it also stopped charging. Polar repaired it for me, but a month

Crazy Sale on Fenix 7 Pro SS, or Wait For 8/9?

I recently bought the Fenix 7 pro SS titanium for $500 usd (roughly the same price you're seeing). I upgraded from a dying polar grit x pro. I figured I'd keep the watch for 4-5 years before it dies or I want to replace it. I could justify $100-$120 a year for a fitness watch to track my activities,

Amazfit Trex 3 for triathlon and daily use?

Thanks! I'll be training with a strap most of the times anyway, so I am used to that. I know the Zepp app is limited, but imho most apps are. But if the data IS available, exportable and above all reliable, I can perhaps use a third party tool for it. But it has to be there. My current Polar Grit X

Flow app weekly summary: Wrong distance

I thought I was the only one. I used my laptop polar flow app which seems to catch the miles and when I did a factory reset it logged in the miles but back to the same predicament and also filed a support ticket. (Polar Grit X Pro)

Temperature sensor

Thanks for the insight it's used voor the altitude. Do you have more technical information about barometric altitude sensor? I'm just interested (from a physics and electronic perspective). I had the Polar Grit X. That was onl a barometer. It didn't work quite good after a year or two. I understood
