Best pack for upcoming trip?
A hiking backpack has different desirable qualities than a travel backpack. Patagonia makes great travel packs, like the MLC and mini MLC. I use my daypack (Osprey hikelite) as a carryon personal item and it works well for me, but it’s way less capacity than one of the MLCs. I think it’s a 24L, but

If you can only have one? Travel Down Jacket
Doh. I should have read your post more carefully. Didn’t initially see the midweight part. You are right. It’s more the lightweight category. That said, I always carry a lightweight ArcTeryx fleece for the plane anyway. Paired with the MHGW, I am comfortable below freezing. For some colder climate t

Osprey Daylight 26+6 vs Patagonia Micro MLC for 4 day trip
I feel like a weirdo but I no long will buy a pack that doesn't have a waist strap. It makes all the difference to me in terms of comfort. My last straw was trying out the Osprey Daylight 26+6 and even though I saw why people loved it, I just could not without the strap. I ended up with the Patagoni

Best 35L backpack?
Patagonia MLC Mini. It’s like a black hole duffle but with briefcase and backpack carry and holds much more than a backpack. Ideal for 1 week work trip.

Is the weight difference between the Travel Pack 3 and Travel Pack 3 Ultra worth the extra cost?
Patagonia Mini MLC 30L which just scrapes by at 2.8 lbs. I try to keep it at 13 lbs or less when fully packed. The 32L Patagonia Black Hole Pack is another good option at 1.7 lbs if you prefer that form factor.

Can someone explain the whole packing 3-4 sets of clothes to someone who wears 2 sets of clothes a day?
Hi! I suggest considering using packing cubes and a garment folder! It made a huge difference in my SEA trip as it helped me pack 3x pairs of lulu shorts, 5 t-shirts (I think). 2x linen pants, 2 polos, 2 linen button ups, a linen dress shirt and 7 underwear inside the Patagonia Mini MLC (30L). I wor

BJJ Bag
I've been using the Patagonia Mini MLC; it's on the bigger side of backpacks, and depending on your size, it might look too big. But I found it to be a great alternative that can comfortably fit a gi, a change of clothes, and a laptop, and still have some space. Also has really good organization if

Black Hole Mini MLC 30 - Worth it if I don't travel with laptop?
Most/many backpacks come with laptop sleeves/insert placeholders these day, & the Patagonia Mini MLC does as well, but it doesn’t mean it takes up a “massive” amount of space if you do not put a laptop or other flat electronic device into it… Is it “wasted space” in terms of “unneccessary”? YES. Is

Clash of kings: The Able Carry Max EDC (X-Pac) VS the Aer Travel Pack 4 28L (X-Pac) for everyday use and traveling.
Never tried the GoRuck myself but did have the Patagonia. MLC 30 has got quite a different style and it's larger but tbh I did really like it. Very space efficient too and lightweight
