Cotopaxi Alpa 28L vs Patagonia MLC 30
I’m currently on my first trip with the Patagonia MLC, and I’m really enjoying using it! I’m traveling with my two kids (9 & 7), so we aren’t one bagging it (it’s my .5 in a 1.5 system that would be carry-on only in the US, but we’re checking the rollers since we’re over the 7 kg SE Asia carry-on li

Help me finalize my 1.5-bag setup for 2 weeks in Thailand + occasional work trips (analysis paralysis edition)
I wouldn't focus on sticking with one brand - that doesn't reaally make sense if say the Osprey pack fits you best but you don't love their sling. I'd also think about what you will carry in hipsack vs. daybag and make sure you aren't getting double duty there. If the packable day bag is really just

Bottle sling on side of Crossroads 35 backpack?
You can clip it to the side handle. But this is why I ended up going with a Patagonia MLC mini 30L. It has the side pocket for a bottle. I loved the yeti bag but not having the outside pocket was just too big of a deal breaker for me

Bag Finder Megathread - 13 April 2026
I've done a lot of research and I'm stuck between two bags: Cotopaxi Allpa 28L and Patagonia Black Hole Mini MLC 30L. I really like the clamshell design, and these two bags are almost the same as far as functionality, but I'm leaning towards Cotopaxi because of the del dia options and the fact that

Managed to under pack my Farpoint 40; advice?
I would only use the Daylite 26+6 for under seat/personal item only. It does a good job of maximizing under seat space but is nowhere near as comfortable as a bag with properly fitted torso length and load transferring harness. The ergonomics degrade a bit more with Daylite expanded as it shifts the

Hello, I'll be going on a ~30 days trip to Japan the end of March of next year. It'll be my first time traveling for this long and onebagging aswell so I'm trying to find a backpack for it. There are so many options and a price ranges that I'm getting a bit overwhelmed. What I (think) want my backpa

Cotopaxi Allpa 28L or Patagonia Mini MLC 30L?
Bumping up this old thread since I had the same dilemma. I actually bought both bags to try them out in person. I don't think you can go wrong with either, but here are some key differences: The Allpa 28L has a TPU-coated nylon exterior which should be more durable than the TPU-coated polyester of t

Patagonia Mini MLC vs Pakt Aero I'm in a conundrum and looking for some feedback. The Patagonia Mini MLC is currently my main travel backpack, I can easily travel 2 weeks (and probably more) with it. I like the capacity, the straps are comfortable enough, but I would love better accessibility on the

Traveling without a suitcase for the first time, any advice?
I have been many places with a 30L bag and 7kg total weight limit . I’ve also got a 38L bag but it ends up weighing more than 7kg once full . I use the Patagonia mini mlc I’ll never go back to checking in luggage as I love just getting off the flight and leaving asap . My bag is a backpack so no has
