[RTINGS] Wi-Fi 7 Marketing Is Lying About Its Biggest Feature

Netgear has an issue with: No MLO No wifi 7 on the 2.4 and 5ghz bands. Just wifi 6 mode on those two bands. Struggles to maintain multi-RU allocations like it should. 700mbps on 2.4ghz is effectively a lie, being on top of an rs700s router with a be200 laptop caps at 144 mbps.

Good Wi-Fi Router in 2026. Any recommendation?

Just did this - 7 people, 3 floors. Went through a few mesh systems (tplink be4800, be5000, XE75). Hated the way mesh worked, walked to another room device would hang on the further node and online games were choppier (higher ping and latency) than a single nighthawk (even had wired backhaul from ma

Current Experiences with AP7?

I just switched from gold se with 1 netgear rs700s (similar to orbi with no mesh) and 1 netgear raxe500 (used for 2.4ghz iot cams etc). Switched to a gold plus and 2 ap7. I have 1 ap7 wired to the gold plus and the 2nd ap7 uses wireless backhaul. Everything has been super solid and all of my outdoor

I got a new modem and router and my download speed dropped easily 30% and my uploads dropped 90%

I use the Netgear CM3000 modem (with Netgear RS700S router) with my 1.2G Xfinity plan and I get download speed in excess of 1.4G and upload speed near 50 Mbps. So, I am getting what I pay for.

How often should a router realistically be replaced?

That's exactly the model I had! ...and because there are so many exploits these days and Netgear is not providing updates any longer (not to mention the news about irrational rules about foreign made routers), I recently replaced it with an RS600 (my ISP cannot exploit an RS700S any time in the fore

Segway Navimow X43O & WiFi Routers

I run Ubiquiti security cameras, but they're all running on a bridged Netgear WiFi router system. In the future, I thought about switching over to their routers. But I love how Netgear labels everything. Once I click on FN-Technology, the app gives me the MAC/IP details. I've always been a Netgear g

Best router/mesh system for 1000/100 mixed wired/wifi router

I highly recommend a rs700s by Netgear!!!! I have one. And I love it. It’s super fast ping for games and can handle a lot 4x4 connection on 2.4 5 and 6 hz. It’s wifi 7 and has a huge range (metres). It’s an over kill for my needs. But I really like it and should last for several years. Had no proble

Best router/mesh system for 1000/100 mixed wired/wifi router

https://www.netgear.com/au/home/wifi/routers/rs700s/ Yes that one. This is netgear website. Range says 325 square metres. If you want, you could look at rs600, which is cheaper. But I couldn’t take it anymore buying different routers. Couldn’t return it a jb Hifi, so I just bought rs700. To make sur

A warning about Netgear routers.

Routers are all hit or miss, that's the reality. There's nothing worse about Netgear than Eero or Asus routers. I know, I've tried all of them and it's rolling dice just like having an experience with Telcos. Who you get in customer service when something goes wrong, a fluke with their firmware or g

[RTINGS] Wi-Fi 7 Marketing Is Lying About Its Biggest Feature

A late reply, I just wanted to mention that the netgear rs300 is using a combined SoC+Radio BCM6765 chip while the netgear rs700s uses a BCM4916 CPU SoC with BCM67263/BCM6726 radio chips. The chips from Broadcom are sold with MLO support to them, so it's blocked off at a firmware level. I can also c
