Just bought the Q990F, sub feels really weak. Quick decibel measurement from my phone with the Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 test track shows each speaker at ~75 dB @ vol 15, the sub around ~50. Is this a defective sub?

Yep. That's the one. The Shockwafe 9.2.4 eARC. This thing is a monster. It demolished the Samsung. I had this discussion on another thread here with a hardcore Samsung fanatic who brought up the Rtings reviews saying that overall the best soundbar was the Samsung but was very unhappy when I pointed

Best soundbars on the market currently?

Samsung 990 is highly rated and best bang for the buck. Nakamichi Dragon is good but on the higher end. Sony Quads aren’t actually a bar but set up like one. You have to pay extra for a sub but it gets great reviews. There’s a review of the new Nakamich Shockwafe on YouTube from NeverEnoughTech and

Just got my first soundbar, I got the Q995F on Black Friday but was a little underwhelmed to be honest. I just set it up and don’t think it sounds anything to special, could it be that I need to tweak the settings? How do I do that?

I replaced my almost $5k 5.1 system in my theater with a Nakamichi shockwafe wireless 11.2.6 and I am more than happy. You just haven’t experienced a good sound bar

Sonos Arc Ultra vs Samsung 990d

Just think about this. The Samsung is literally on the same level of sound quality. I had the full Sonos arc ultra in my living room for 5 weeks before I ended up buying the 990f and then I returned the 990f and exchanged for the 990D. The Sonos honestly isn’t even worth it for only a few hundred mo

[Tuesday] Daily Music Discussion - 30 September 2025

● Watched the Jeff Buckley doc last night. It was pretty decent, but the highlight for sure was all the live footage. It was too stylized, the cartoony stuff was not a good fit IMO, but it did a good job of showing his character. I feel like I understand him fairly well. After watching, the ambiguit

About to buy my first soundbar, need advices.

I’m not an audiophile but I do work at Best Buy in the Home Theater department so I have some knowledge. Samsung Q990D- 11.1.4 channel system. The upgraded version of the Q930D. More powerful sub and better balanced side firing speakers. Works with Q Symphony on compatible Samsung televisions. Nakam

Nakamichi or Sonos Arc?

Ever think there’s a reason why Nakamichi has dropped so much over the last 2 months? Because people are returning them left and right and the people who claim they are the best are just fanboys that can’t stand when people hate it. Sonos quality sound and the Sony Quads are better in every way. If

Samsung q990 /q995 doesn't blow me away

Nakamichi shockwafe is what worked best in my space for my ears. But nakamichi has come out with bigger and better since my purchase. Theres alot of nice sounding stuff out there from many brands. https://ebay.us/m/mgyH5S

Samsung 990F or JBL 1300 Pro ?

I would agree that the newer mk2 would be better and it’s got tons of power and to be honest I’m sick of recommending the Samsung just because of its price. I think they sound okay and although I’ve never heard the 990F, I’ve heard the 990D and the bass was fairly strong but boomy and the sound qual

2025 Nakamichi Shockwave with Danish Drivers

looks good. i like that they’re adding tru upfiring speakers. my old shockwafes arc port took a shit so i bought an lg s95qr but i preferred the sound of the nakamichi. looks like it retails for $2,499. i wonder if they’ll offer a lower tiered model with only 1 sub.
