So I accidentally bought the Surface Pro 11 (13”) over the Surface Pro 12”
Microsoft has badly bungled how they name and market the Surface line. They even had a "Surface Pro X" and a "Surface Pro 10" which are not the same model! Having two different "13-inch", "11th edition" models and a "12-inch" model (unknown edition) on sale at the same time is frankly incompetent. T

Can I install 86/64 on surface pro 11?
I just returned my arm based sp11 because I had problem after problem running audio device drivers, went with an Intel based one and everything is groovy. I don't think you're going to be happy with the arm platform, at least until Microsoft delivers on their promise of some sort of asio layer for c

In the market for a new Surface pro..
Microsoft stupidly started using the size of the screen in the naming. Surface Pro 12 is really Surface Pro 12" and Surface Pro 13 is really Surface Pro 11 which has a 13" screen. They're the same generation. However, the Surface Pro 11 aka Surface Pro 13" comes with 2 different processors, both hig

Codex Windows app runs under x64 emulation on ARM (Surface Pro 11) → causes UI freezes
I really love the GUI app but it's far too 'destructive' to the device (extremely high temperature when run heavy tasks on Codex). The machine fans sound literally like 'Help, it's killing me' lol (Surface Pro 11)However, Codex CLI is much more stable. Still very hot when running heavy tasks, but wa

Microsoft's crazy Surface price hikes are pushing me to Apple: I can no longer recommend Surface over a MacBook or iPad
I regret buying my Surface pro 11. Nice OLED screen and speakers but SO many bugs. Will probably sell it for a massive loss too because these Surfaces lose so much value. Never again.

Time and battery status keep disappearing
i ran into this on my SP11 last month. for me it was a driver glitch with the detach event. try restarting explorer.exe or running the surface diagnostic toolkit first. if that doesn't stick, plugging into an external monitor via a USB C hub sometimes resets the display stack and fixes it. kinda ann

Surface Pro 12 vs Samsung Tab S11
One of my regret for buying the SP11 is the OLED screen. It's so grainy and "rainbow-ish" on white colors. I can't believe a big company like Microsoft produce a trash screen like that. Oh, the ARM, you can't even install most of any windows app even with the prism emulator. I don't know if it's my

Surface pro 11th - Thunderbolt display issue
Microsoft claims the 5G models with the Qualcomm CPU have USB4 which includes Thunderbolt 3 capabilities and compatibility with thunderbolt 4. Nvme drives work via pcie and native thunderbolt displays work without fallback to dp alt mode. I'm not sure why they don't claim USB4 for Wi-Fi only models

Constant Windows bugs are ruining the Surface Pro (11) experience!
Loved my previous Surface Pro but the Surface Pro 11 has become a useless brick. Mouse pointer hops around and appears in two places... screen freezes up regularly, requiring reboot... background screens constantly pop into foreground disrupting my foreground window use... I've tried numerous sugges

Windows Wrap: Snapdragon X PCs are the latest victims of lazy takes and willfully ignorant tech journalists
I got a Zenbook A16 (in the UK) last week, switching from a Surface Pro 11th ed. I could not be happier with my purchase. The laptop is hugely faster than the Surface Pro, does not run as hot, has run all the software I have tried on it, and weighs less than the Surface Pro. The display is beautiful
