Yeah... Im skeptical. My experience with headphones is that they're either good looking or have good audio quality. You can't have both. I have the Splatoon headphones. They look nice, but the audio is completely crap. I also have the Meze 99 neo's and they look old-fashioned, but the quality is top

Mugi thinking Mugi Thinking Indeed... Mio's expensive headphones A friend of mine joined the patreon of a certain cheap audio yootoober, and in last year's end of the year giveaway, scored a very nice pair of Meze 99 Classic headphones. He, (of course) brought them up to demonstrate to me, and ... w

I use Meze Audio 99 Classics. I think they sound good in games and music, and they don't hurt my ears or head even in long sessions. I had that problem with other headsets. I wouldn't say they are heavy either as far as headphones go. But if you want ultimate lightness, then IEMs are definitely goin

Dekoni Elite Sheepskin pads for the 99 Classics are what you need. Everything else will destroy sound signature. https://dekoniaudio.com/products/dekoni-audio-elite-sheepskin-replacement-ear-pads-for-meze-99

As a fellow audio phile (Meze 99 Classics currently) I completely understand, even on the floor full cranked so that it's peaking like crazy it's way better than anything else you got, really shows why they are so expensive LOL

I love my Meze 99 Classic corded cans—I use them a lot and recently had to replace the ear pads (after about 4 years of near daily use). Everything on them is replaceable and they also happen to be gorgeous! The tradeoff of no Bluetooth has been surprisingly not as irritating as I thought and the so

Meze 99 Walnut are high-res headphones and the parts are replaceable. The ear cups say vegan leather so that could also be pleather. They're not cheap (~$300) and you should have hardware to deliever high-res audio if you want to hear a difference, a cheap DAC will work. https://mezeaudio.com/pages/

Brainwavz Audio makes mass supply of replacement pads and they are just for generic fit. They don't care about tuning one bit. If you want the Meze 99 to sound the way they do, stick to stock or get the Dekoni Elite pads. I think stock pads are around $30 or so from Meze.

Over budget : Meze 99 Classics Gen2 $349 - has included usb dongle dac. An improvement over directly plugging into PC. User serviceable, Meze sells replacement parts. Within budget : Hifiman Edition XS Hifiman Ananda Stealth If there's spare cash, get a portable dac/amp. Will work with PC and phone.

Don’t blind buy ANY headphones when looking at those prices. Trust me, it gets very nitpicky and the sound signature can make or break a headphone for you. I’ve listened to Focal Utopias ($5000) and absolutely hated music through them… the music sounded too sterile and clinical in my opinion, as if
