Is anyone using a small backpackable monitor for small events?
I've bought the Mackie Thump Go for this purpose plus house/street parties with friends. I was more inclined for the Bose but didn't find the sound amazing for club style music, I feel it's better suited for vocals/live music. So my options changed to Mackie vs Everse 8. And then yeah, for this purp

Speaker recommendation for bedroom and mini house party
Didn't read in detail, but this has an easy answer. House party: JBL Partybox, as much as your budget allows or a pair to spread the sound. Or hi-fi/desk 2.1 systems. Monitors are for monitoring. Mostly flat, boring, directional, close range, etc. An 8" monitor is not an 8" speaker. Small PA is over

I want to give my friend a chance to get some DJ experience in. Looking to buy a speaker that is reasonable on latency and volume for 30 people.
Mackie Thump Go, or an LG xboom Stage 301. The LG has a good built in light show and about 30ms of latency, but the lights are only sound reactive in bluetooth mode, not wired. Mackie has no lights and should have no latency when wired.

Which speakers to get?
I'd skip the JBL entirely. They sound nice, but you can't build a decent DJ system on that. Delay due to DSP, no pro connections, no mixer, etc. They are really meant for domestic/end-user only. I've got two Mackie Thump Go (bought 2y apart, so I'm clearly happy) and they are decent, have embedded 2

Portable speakers for Omnis Duo
A lot of those JBL speakers have a bit of delay on them even in wired mode. Id suggest a more purpose built battery powered pa speaker like the Mackie thump go or the Bose s1

Best studio monitors for House & Techno?
If you're not concerned with accuracy, then you don't need to go with studio monitors, but not all of them are truly flat. I have the KRK 7" G4 and looking to add the 10 G4 subwoofer, but if I was just DJing I'd buy a pair of Mackie Thump Go plus their 8" sub. At least those would double up as porta

What’s a good portable speaker(s) ?
If you have the cash, the Mackie Thump Go speakers are fabulous. I have a pair, I primarily use them at gigs as my "amp rig", but I also just use them for fun when I'm jamming because they sound fabulous, and are battery powered. Best combination of a "real" PA, amp, and portability, and with two of

Headrush FRFR Go
If you’re still looking for a battery powered solution look at Alto Busker or Mackie Thump Go (or Mackie Thrash Go). Not FRFR but I’ve been running my stuff through the Mackie and it sounds great.

Looking for a Bass Amp
If you're looking for something with that feature, check out Mackie Thump speakers. You can connect to instruments (both XLR and TRS) and Bluetooth to your phone. My husband uses one (Thump GO) for looping/busking, and it's what I practice with, and we've even used it like an amp for band practice a
