I’m not sure what you consider too expensive but I use the Logitech mx mechanical mini and it’s fantastic. I use the dongle mainly but it works fine with Bluetooth too. Can be connected to three devices at the same time and switch easy with the press of a button. I got the one with the silent switch

I don’t bother with the backlight so haven’t noticed this issue. What I love most about the MX Mechanical is the easy ability to switch between three devices.
