I can assure you the Hinges that hold the earcups do break, out of nowhere. It is a lovely headset, if not, the top model of Razer before the Blackshark v3 pro. I had mine for 3 years and one day the hinges were just broken, never fell, nothing, just simply broke while they were in the headset stand

The SteelSeries headsets do not have great microphones. They are fairly quiet but with their Sonar GG app you can adjust your mic to your liking.
