Thinkpad X1 Extreme Gen 2 worth it in 2026?
Don’t buy. The X1E Gen2 is horrible. It had a serious keyboard issue and many other drivers issues. I had one and Lenovo replaced it for a Gen3 under warranty (which I still have, and works okay).

Beli Thinkpad via Shopee/Tokopedia
Mau kasih heads up kalau mau beli seri X1, terutama X1 Carbon, X1 Extreme. Ini lini flagship, speknya premium dan sering jadi target kanibalan oknum nakal. Part aslinya mahal jadi ada oknum refurbisher Indo yang beli unit bagus, ambil part premium-nya, terus dijual lagi. Yang paling sering kejadian

ThinkPads are no longer as appealing as they used to be
I gave up on Lenovo ThinkPads in 2019, in part because I bought 3 for me and my friends, and they all broke down within a year and were pretty much constant trouble (x1e G1 and g2) and then because I was living in Hong Kong at the time during the crackdown, which the CCP began in July and continues

I replaced the FHD display in my X1 Extreme 2nd Gen to a 144hz panel
Thanks for the answer :) I am using the thunderbolt 3 workstation dock gen 2. The dock itself is working properly since it does not give any issue with my X390. I already checked the screen refresh and it was set to be 60hz all the time, in fact the screen going off and on was not related to unplugg

Can someone ELI5: what the heck is "Aura Edition"?
I don’t have an issue with a long list of SKUs. My issue is the marketing jargon. Having choice is good, but being bombarded with noise is bad. Lenovo: Just give me the SKUs and cut the crap. ThinkPad is supposed to be a professional brand, right? Treat it as such. I already spent my money with Appl

My laptop is really struggling rn
I have a ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 5 which was released in 2022, so I doubt age would have anything to do with this. But I do see a pattern where the most badly affected machines, such as those with boot problems, seem to all have NVIDIA GPUs. My ThinkPad which has an RTX 3080 Ti wasn’t this badly aff

USB C doesn't charge anymore
It shouldn't have worked in the first place: https://psref.lenovo.com/syspool/Sys/PDF/ThinkPad/ThinkPad_X1_Extreme_2nd_Gen/ThinkPad_X1_Extreme_2nd_Gen_Spec.pdf Though if it did work previously and now doesn't, it's probably the firmware bug. If it's the firmware bug try and update the firmware before the po

Best School Computer to Buy?
I have been a thinkpad user since my first laptop. I’ve been through T series, E series, X series, X1C and X1E. The quality assurance is far from what it used to be, and even with Lenovo’s heavy discounts it’s increasingly hard to justify the price. I don’t think I can recommend thinkpads anymore an

Is the ThinkPad still the best Choice for Laptop for IT?
I was a ThinkPad devotee since the IBM days. Until the pandemic, if you bought one with an NBD warranty, you were pretty much bulletproof. But after an X1 Yoga and X1 Extreme that both shouldn't have needed that warranty in the first place, complete incompetence from Lenovo's distribution, and worth
