Thinkpad é tudo isso mesmo?
Eu uso o ThinkPad t14 gen 3, já tive o t480, t490, e14. Sim, é tudo isso e muito superior as porcarias vendidas de asus, dell, acer.

Why are Lenovo ThinkPads so highly praised?
There was a really good post about this a couple weeks ago, that I fully recommend, I agree with every single word of it and my only single criticism is that the author didn't take a chance to add that what is true of ThinkPads is also true of every other corporate-aimed type of ocmputer. The Myth o

Is buying a used Thinkpad even worth it anymore?
If you just want a lightweight good battery laptop, the ThinkPad has never been the solution. Batteries have never been a ThinkPad strong point. Until around the T460 era, displays were a MARKED bad point - and even now, if you're looking for an outdoor usable display, ThinkPad panels are traditiona

I really love the idea of owning thinkpad instead of a mac. The only thing stopping me is the sound quality.
Get a recent one. X1 Carbon Gen 13has fabulous speakers. In comparison older ones (2018 Carbon Gen 6) are way worse to even crappy (X200 from like 2008). The X13 Gen 2 (2021???) has okay-ish (compared to 2015 13.3 MBP and 2015 12 MB). Edit: well, since you have a Mac and you're thinking about a new

i summon all the mighty T480 programmers
Depends on your needs. I'd go for the one with the bigger battery and upgrade the SSD by myself. If you want to do AI stuff on the ThinkPad itself: don't. Just offload that to your desktop. Just SSH into it. For frontend development you don't need much. You need VScode, a browser and some CLI tools

Decommissioning a batch of ThinkPads. Which ones should I save from the "discard" pile?
Oh.Oh yes! The corps reward your loyalty with glamorous ThinkPads! 470p is a beast. A gem! And, a hidden one! Take a P51. Too! Slap a Xeon and some PT7950. Magic happens! You can get T480 for $100 (and that's a max for what it's worth), so you can get both W530 and P51. And do some cool projects! An

Need a new computer at the office
basically any moderrn system will meet these requirements. With that being said, my top recommendation for a cheap laptop (that will meet these requirements) is a used/refurb Lenovo ThinkPad T480.

Good cheap-ish laptop recommendations?
For that budget I'd probably go with a refurbished ThinkPad T480 or T490 if you can find one 💀 Those things are built like tanks and handle everyday stuff perfectly. Dell Latitude 5000 series is another solid option that won't break the bank Just make sure whatever you get has an SSD instead of a tr

Just join the club with a T480s
Welcome to the cult , the T480s is a sweet laptop , something different that the T480 that everybody else gets. I was able to drop a 32gb sodimm in mine , so getting more ram should be physically easy , just stupid pricing right now. Enjoy your ThinkPad!!
