Why are amd t14 so expensive?
It's more expensive because that's what people want. The battery life is better and generally performance is better to. I got this t14s when it was on sale for 1200$ and I love it. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1861294-REG/lenovo_21m1001xus_14_thinkpad_t14s_gen.html

I really need a laptop š»! But...
Step 1: Find a part time job. Step 2: Pick up a used Lenovo Thinkpad t14s Gen 1 or Dell Latitude 7420 on eBay for $150-200. They're cheap, well built, and reasonably quick for the price.

Why is the X1 Carbon considered the most premium ThinkPad?
The thing is it doesn't have a better cooling system than the T14s (note the s). The T14s Gen 6 is like 90% of the X1C Gen 13 at 3/4 of the price, with a lot more CPU and screen options too. I appreciate the engineering behind the X1C idea but a lot of those innovations are trickling down to lesser

X1C gen 13 vs T14s gen 6 vs ?
I like using notebook check reviews, as they provide a pretty consistent way of comparing laptop chassis temps between models https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-ThinkPad-T14s-Gen-6-laptop-review-The-AMD-version-returns-with-the-Ryzen-AI-7-Pro-360.923414.0.html#c12324992 https://www.notebookcheck.n

Iām an architect looking for a new surface laptop
If I was using the programs you mention, I'd look for X86 laptops (Intel / AMD processors). And what laptop size are you looking for? I seek 13" - 14", ymmv. I've been looking for a quality laptop since early November & my priority overlapped many of yours. Here's my experience of what consider & lo

T14s gen 6: AMD or Intel?
It works on my T14s Snapdragon, LOL. I get something like 3% battery drain overnight in sleep mode. On AMD and Intel, YMMV. https://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-empire-strikes-back-with-21-hrs-of-battery-life-Lenovo-ThinkPad-T14s-Gen-6-laptop-review.1008078.0.html This is the only review out there th

T14s or T14|AMD or Intel Which is better and why
But also i realize that the AMD ones are slight more expensive than the intel ones. Which AMD models are you looking at? (G2 is very good in all round performance, G1 is OK, if you can live with efficiency penalties and some performance losses..) I have also heard that intel cpu runs hotter than the

Do I get t14 gen2 intel base or ryzen base?
I went to doublecheck. From looking it up it looks like the t14g2 is the ryzen 5000 series, which is even more AMD-favored vs the intel versions. This isn't the T14, somehow they only have a review of the AMD T14s, but this notebookcheck review talks about it https://www.notebookcheck.net/Lenovo-Thi

Looking to move to a Thinkpad, wondering what would fit my needs.
tl;dr: 16 or more GB RAM model of X13 (13.3 inch) or T14s (14 inch) gen1 AMD would be the closest one that meet your criteria. Also are there any other Thinkpads similar to the x1, maybe ones that are a little cheaper X13 (Intel/ AMD) or T14s (Intel/ AMD) series were made of either aluminium or magn
