[UPDATE] Qualcomm, fsck you.
its becoming more of a problem now as more and more of them switch to soldered wireless. Last laptop I had I just switched to intel ax200. But my current P16s gen2a frigging came with soldered wireless. not OP - but also qualcomm victim here. https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Other-Linux-Discussions/QCNF

Any review on Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 (14” AMD)?
It is strange. Display section in specs are only on the US product page. On French, UK and Ferman, this specific section is not displayed (which is strange). If we look on the full specs page (https://psref.lenovo.com/Product/ThinkPad/ThinkPad_P14s_Gen_6_AMD?tab=spec), there is no mention about restrict

P14s Gen 6 AMD - Buy NOW or later?
P14s AMD laptop are based on T14 with the same case, motherboard, fan (only one), etc. The only way to get Strix Halo integrated in a P14s would be with the design of the P14s Intel gen5 version with its 2 fans. As Lenovo strategy seems to prioritize Intel version (P1 and P16 are only Intel laptops)

Recommendation for ThinkPad with 2 NVMe + 780M iGPU
E series is not terrible, but the AMD models are often held back by low quality display options. They're also the entry level ThinkPads, so the materials won't be as nice as what you'd find in a L, T, or P series laptop. But most E16s have two M.2 slots for SSDs, while I don't think any L16, T16, or

Thinkpads T16/P16s gen4 vs Thinkbook 16p gen5 robustness
It was my choice 🙂 First, I wanted the P16s with Ryzen 9 + 4k screen (the only one higher than 1200p) but Lenovo limits 4k screens to Ryzen 5 and 7 configurations only (which is very strange). I've waited for the new P16v and P16 laptops to be released in September but P16v is only sold with a dGPU

P16 Gen3 Workstation - Anybody excited? Expected date of release?
I'm having trouble finding a laptop that meets my needs (powerful enough to run even at less than 100% with a ThinkPad USB-C Dock Gen 2 that provides 100W, has a good screen, decent battery life, ideally memory upgrade options, and is built to last four years). I was interested in the P16s Gen4 with

Hey guys is this a good deal for $2,251 USD
They are charging way too much for the upgraded RAM and storage. Additionally, if you'd like a laptop with 64GB, you most likely also will need a faster CPU. A P16s with the faster Intel 155H cpu, 64GB RAM, OLED display is $2000: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpadp/lenovo-think

P16s Intel+AMD / P16v gen 3 first impression
Thank you for your message. I did not buy Thinkbook 16p yet. While having a dGPU, Thinkbook 16p is not more expensive in my country (around 2k€ with Intel 275HX, IPS 3.2k, PCIe5 slots) than P16s and P16v. And it has : a Magic Bay connector. Their external Dual Screen would be nice if they sell it on

FYI - lenovo let's you configure with Fedora and Ubuntu
Lenovo uses used car salesman tactics, everything's on perpetual sale. The difference is the magnitude of the sale. I'll give you an example. I can get a preconfigured P16s Gen 4 AMD with Windows 11 Pro, a Ryzen 7 Pro 350, 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD, and an OLED 2400p screen for $1329 (44% off). If I do

Where to buy?
I'm not in a particular hurry, but I'm ready to buy when I find a good price. I'm not sure Gen 3 brings anything to the table that I need and I'm hopeful that buying the "old" model will be cheaper at some point. I'm okay with refurbished as long as it's done by Lenovo and not by some guy who broke
