I found this Keychron keyboard at a thrift store for $45!

Hell yeah, well done! I definitely don't think Keychron boards are worth $200+, but as long as you're not paying that, then they have some very solid units. My wife loves her V5 that we got her last year. If we're sharing Keychron success stories, I recently nabbed a C$229 Keychron Q9 for C$80. I sw

1st keyboard, WOW

Also got myself a Keychron as a gift to myself over the holidays. Really liking the Q9. A lot of Keychron's boards are quite simply overpriced, at their regular MSRP. But when they're on a deep sale I've found they're really solid. My wife has the V5—same layout as yours but in a plastic case—and sh

PSA: don't routinely update your keyboard firmware.

I updated the firmware on my Q9 (ISO Knob wired only) board - it is no longer recognized by Keychron Launcher. It only works with VIA web app now. Older firmware is not available to download. Sigh. On the other hand, updating firmware on my two Q6 and one Q3 boards (all ISO Knob wired only) worked w

An elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

Sorry for the incoming wall of text; just trying to be thorough and hopefully illustrative/helpful. I won't say there was no learning curve, of course, but it was also a lot easier than I thought it would be. My first 40% was a Mercutio, which still generally has most of the typical typing cluster o

I get it now!

Ironically, Keychron is considered to be "basic" to a lot of people deep into the hobby. Not a great price-to-performance ratio (subjective, of course) and apparently they've had some QC issues in recent times that people feel aren't being addressed well enough. But in my experience (we have two in

Epomaker's Unhinged Layout

I guess I've been using 40s for ten years so am used to them. they almost all have similar compromises but to me that's the joy of it. I think many people also use one of the space bars for enter too. the one exception you may like is the keychron q9 40 which is more like a 45, so bigger than most 4

Green keyboard owners get it

That is a vibrant green case. My goodness. I love strong anodized colours. They always pop and catch the light like this. I got the Keychron Q9 in blue a week ago and it practically glows in the dark; it's great.

Keychron Q1 HE

Bought myself the Q9 this season, especially since it was dropped down to $55. I would've preferred the "Plus" version with the split spacebar, but worst case I'll get my own PCB manufactured; $55 was enough of a deal it's practically worth it for the case alone. Swapped in some HMX Firecracker swit

SA Blank Selectric

Upvote for the SA.How the hell does a 40 board work. Still don't get the thing (Keychron Q9). What are you using it for? How do you quickly enter IP addresses, json or whatever text, complex passwords, write in a language with 35 letters or play simulator games? :)
