Help choosing first keyboard on a budget

I had a similar requirement list the other day and was going round in circles for weeks for a full size iso layout. Might be one to check out for you as well. Post: https://www.reddit.com/r/keyboards/s/9OwmWT6kTo Ended up with the Keychron K10 Max, literally just got it yesterday but loving the init

Keyboard like Epomaker galaxy 100 lite but reliable?

but similar to the keychron quality seems to be a concern. I believe the issues with those stem down to a few points on certain lines (V, Q and others that have gasket mount switches) Poron foam plate on gasket mounting boards is too soft/thick and causes switches not to seat properly (easy fix - re

First Mechanical Keyboard in Years

I’m no expert on them, but I googled it and this is the first comparison that popped up: Keychron Q6 Max Build: Full aluminum case, gasket mount, very heavy for stability, premium feel. Connectivity: Wired only (but the "Max" version is now wireless too, check specs), QMK/VIA support for deep custom

So should I just go ahead and return this?

Not sure what you're referring to but I see nothing but good reviews for it. I've had a Keychron Q1 Pro for a while now and absolutely love it. Zero issues. Best action, even the best noise. I type faster now than I used to because of it. I like it so much I just bought a K10 Max for my second PC.

75% Keyboard Recommendations

Standard answer : Rainy75, Womier RD75. neo75 may be an option since you already have switches and keycaps, but the shipping would put it > 150. All of those would be a step up over a plastic Keychron ( nothing against them, I have a K10 max and love it ).

April 10, 2026 Weekly "General Help Post?" - Please post all general, recommendations, and help questions as a top level comment under this post. Thank you.

Keychron K10 max is safer than the V or Q series. You don't want to get stuck with a flakey board because you got one where the flexy mount makes the switches work loose. Don't worry about the switches a board comes with, you can always swap them out.

Wired Replacement Mechanical Keyboard Suggestion?

Edit: thanks for input. I ended up getting a Keychron K10 Max (brown). in terms of actual typing / keyboard, it's really excellent. I love the construction / weight of the keyboard itself. i am not loving the backlight (and shortcut keys for them), but I honestly don't use the backlight much.

Keychron V6 - fake or real?

Gasket mounts are good. Read up about why they're used. You get stiffer and softer mounts. Often, keyboards with stiffer plates and rubber or large silicone gaskets won't even feel like they have a gasket mount, but they'll have decent sound characteristics — sound is the main reason to buy a gasket

TheKapco is scammy. Avoid.

Update: after some back and forth with their support email they gave me a no-return refund. Took them a bit to understand the issue I was having but they were pretty easy to work with. I just got the Snoopy space set... Idk if I got a bad batch but these are terrible. All the bottom edges are super
