Get a board with open source QMK firmware that uses the VIA web app for configuration. If you want a magnetic board, get a Keychron K HE series board, Keychron is about the only company that makes magnetic keyboards with QMK firmware. K2, K8, or K10 HE.

It is a good choice if it isn't (or will become) defective. The tradeoff compared to a keyboard with regular mechanical switches is the very limited selection in "switches"—only linear.
