I improved my monitoring situation, mixing is way easier and now I’m finding most plugins useless.

The accuracy of the control room cannot be stressed enough, but from an equipment standpoint, the things that have the biggest impact on the final sound of a mix are those things that turn acoustic sounds into electricity, and those that turn electrical impulses back into sound. Monitors are typical

Plz dont send me to shittybattlestations. Work in progress.

Im working on getting smaller ones, but they do sound very nice. They're JBL 305p MkII which are near field studio monitors, but they take up too much desk space - which is only a 48"x24" butcherblock.

52yr old virgin in terms of using decks/mixing or equipment.

Ok so there’s 4 main things you need. A controller, computer, speakers, and some headphones. Possibly a usb stick, if you ever plan on exporting your music library to play on other setups. For starters, I recommend a ddj flx-4. If you learn how to play on this, you’ll know how to play on any digital

I'm Done (For Real)

I used to have the JBL 305 monitors. Was super happy with the sound and the quality. They lasted 8 years without any issues at all. After that I choosed to go with the KEF LSX 2 LT two years ago. Big Mistake. During these two years they have broken twice. I cannot believe how this can happen. I list

audio rabbit hole is the most expensive detour in the desk setup game, glad you made it out alive. jbl 305p mkii + ws 6.2 combo is a legit jump over most prosumer setups. the 305s have that slightly scooped mid that people either love or tolerate, but paired with a real sub it fills in the low end n

In terms of budget monitors JBL control 1 any good?

If you’re excited about JBL just get the 305p they’re the same price as the control1 after you buy an amp and they were actually made for what you may be trying to use them for. They measure out decently for their price point. But with monitors in this range the rate of return on spending more is st

Should I dial in tones with FRFR or Headphones?

All studio monitors are aiming to be FRFR (for the most part), Yamaha are a solid choice as the other commenter said, JBL 305P MK2 and Kali Audio are also great at a similar price point

If you are looking for convenience dont buy TT

Powered studio monitors, yes. But Rokkits suck. JBL 305P are way better.

Why there's no audio equipment nowadays like in the 80s JVC or KENWOOD?

I'd argue that a decent pair of powered monitors with a quality Bluetooth adapter running to a budget DAC sounds better than what 98% of average people use on a daily basis, and could be had under $500. Most people I know either just play music from their phone speaker or have some cheap Bluetooth r
