Big Student

Honestly, just a navy blue jansport big student. Bigger than I need by a lot so if I have to grab anything extra, I can do so easily (i.e. stow a jacket for when it’s 35° in the morning and 75° by 11am.)

I fly everywhere with a Jansport Big Student backpack. It’s 34l, so you have to underpack it just a smidge to fit it under the seat. They are super affordable, and they hold up. I’ve had mine for ten years. I’ve been looking and looking to replace it with something more “grown up”, but I can’t find

Jansport Big Student backpack fits in the Frontier personal item sizer snugly but without any difficulty. If I had put anything in the front pockets it would have been difficult to squish down. Jansport is really durable and has a ‘80s throwback vibe. I think the Big Student model is good, it has a tablet sleeve inside. Fjallraven is cool but most of the versions have really uncomfortable thin straps. They have one with thicker padded straps, it’s the one with the tablet sleeve. L.L. Bean
