I think your best bet is to switch to a closed lid water bottle for the time on crutches. Backpacks are going to really struggle to hold a Stanley, especially when you consider the process of putting on a backpack. As far as a backpack itself, I’m a fan of Jansports. My preference is a Big Student.

Honestly, just a navy blue jansport big student. Bigger than I need by a lot so if I have to grab anything extra, I can do so easily (i.e. stow a jacket for when it’s 35° in the morning and 75° by 11am.)

i love my jansport bag—- specifically the big student. theres a couple diff options with different amounts of pockets/slots etc for organizing and is pretty large. also there’s many fun colors and patterns (if you can have one that’s not black)

Jansport Big Student backpack fits in the Frontier personal item sizer snugly but without any difficulty. If I had put anything in the front pockets it would have been difficult to squish down. My luxury airport personal item bag has been, and will always be a Jansport Big Student Backpack. I can stuff my purse and everything else in it. I just got one in lilac to match my new fancy purple luggage.

I actually think Jansport Cool students make sense, yep, it is cheap but it is good particuarly when you do not have many items that require an organizer. I sold my Tumi Alpha and back to Jansport. Though you may want to do some modification from a tailor. As for why it is good: It is super light, w
