I've been out of school for 10 years. What Tech and Tools for Grad School Are you using?

I'm also an older grad student. I use Zotero and Obsidian to record references and organize/connect texts. I use a remarkable paper pro as my notebook. I just keep it open and take notes as I read so I don't have to deal with tabs. I have a system of highlights for things like (green) thesis/main ar

2025 flow z13 vs 2025 g14 4080

It really depends on what is important to you. One little thing that is seldom discussed: the amazing touch screen on the Z13, plus its pen support that is becoming more and more useful as I use it daily for work (signatures, annotations on a screenshot, etc.) For example, I tried going the G16 rout

Which is better for work and study

Surface is a premium device. An HP Pavilion is very much not a premium device. The surface would be built better and long term more reliable, but it definitely has more of a tablet feel than a laptop. Unless this is a killer deal, id recommend looking at the surface pro 10 or if you want a laptop go

Lenovo ThinkPad Vs HP Elitebook

The only good ho I've had was the spectre x360. Took it everywhere with me and ended up giving to a cousin in Mexico years ago. Still uses it and hinges aren't broken. Can't speak on other models. I would still go thinkpad. Function over looks and function always looks more professional.

Looking for new Surface Pro without ARM

You’ll probably want to stick with Intel-based models up to the Surface Pro 9 (non-ARM version) that’s the last one before Microsoft really started pushing ARM hard. The Surface Pro 8 and Pro 7+ are both great options for what you’re doing (Live2D, digital art, light gaming). • Surface Pro 8: 11th-g

If u use computer to play and ur game works great or bad can u tell what computer are u using?

I play on my HP Spectre x360 2 in 1 laptop i got in like 2020 and ive never had an issue aside from hit getting s little hot after a while of playing but thats normal. I use the touch screen like a big tablet and then only annoying thing is its touch sensitive so i often accidentally add or delete s

Where can I find a case for this

Looks like they ripped off the spectre x360 design on this thing. Cool laptop though, just noticed that similarity

What kind of (tech-) gadgets made your life in 2025 easier, more productive, more happy, healthier?

Gemini for sure, especially since I got the Pro. A lot of the research I need to do at work now is supplemented by Gemini ( I review them obviously). I got my first mechanical keyboard this year (Keychron K2 HE) and I love the clickity clack sounds it makes. Got a pair of wireless earbuds (Technics

Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio 2 Alternatives

You’re basically chasing three things at once: pen-first workflow, decent Premiere performance, and not-gamer-aesthetic, and that’s why the SLS2 felt perfect. If you want closest vibe on Windows, I’d look at: - Dell XPS 13 2-in-1 or XPS 14 + a separate pen tablet (if you can live without screen pen)

Dell managed to acknowledge their error in abandoning XPS, with a comeback. When will HP do the same with the Spectre x360 line?

I had 3 XPS 13 the last being 9300 during Covid and it had so many problems I switched to Spectre x360 16" 2024 model. It blew XPS out of the water after some serious tweaking but boy does this thing perform. Admittedly 16 isn't as convenient of a form factor as 13 or 14 but I love the extra screen
