Yeah Bluetooth has been messy when receiving (WhatsApp) calls. Defaults to my phone when I'm wearing pixel buds pro 2. Also, charging status constantly popping up in notifications.

Anyone owned Sony or Bose flagship for comparison?
Used the original pixel buds pro, the bose qc ultra buds (gen 1), and bought and returned the pixel buds pro 2. Bose qc ultra has better ANC and transparency than the pixel buds pro 2. To the extent it matters for the price? Not really, not in my opinion. My issue with the pixel buds pro 2 was that

No Google Pixel Buds Pro 3!?
Have you tried Sony XM6, Airpods Pro 3, Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, Liberty Soundcore 5 Pro or Huawei Freebuds Pro 5? All of them clearly beat Pixel Buds Pro 2 one or more category and arguably as whole package as well

Has this ever actually worked for anyone?
It does for me on Pixel Buds Pro 2. I think it's very limited to only Pixel Buds. Try clearing the Pixel Buds app data and then re-enable. I believe Google app needs notification access.
