Hifi speakers are generally voiced or designed for distance listening. Get yourself some decent near field monitors especially since you have a high end digital mixer with those excellent Neve transformers to really appreciate this mixer. I have owned a lot of high end rotary mixers including ARS. T

What monitors are you rocking and do you rate them?

Genelec 8030C with a studio sub and room correction. Might be end game for me.

Are these speakers worth it?

They are fantastic speakers for a desk at that price point. They're good for a small room but will be a lot better with a subwoofer. They aren't an ideal solution for a home stereo / movie setup. They sound great for their size, but in no way do they transcend it. You can get better sounding bigger

8030

I would guess you will notice a nice improvement although I can't find third party measurements of the Yamaha to confirm one way or the other. You don't say which model of the 8030. The C model is the latest. Things may sound wrong at first, because you are adjusted to the Yamaha 'sound', is it has

iLoud MTM MK2 vs Genelec 8010 — which for a small untreated room?

Get the largest speaker you can afford. Get the 8030 or 8040 if possible. That being said the ilouds have digital room eq correction built in afaik. The genelecs you mentioned don't have that. You need to either spend significantly more on the genelecs to get room correction or buy something like so

my homemade setup

Nice I have used Genelec’s for years for my home DJ near field monitoring. I have some 8030c in white on their mic stands which screw into the base. They sound great in lots of different rooms and the ergonomics are excellent as they don’t take up much space plus there a load of desk, wall and stand

Anyone here using Genelec 8010 as home dj monitors? are they good or too small?

Depending on your room and how loud you are able to play. I am guessing that’s why you are choosing 8010 or for travelling. The whole range is perfect for any kind of near field including as DJ monitors they are extremely robust and were made for location playback. They also sound great in lots of d

Anyone here using Genelec 8010 as home dj monitors? are they good or too small?

OK so you have no sound constraints. I would still go for the 8020B otherwise it won’t capture the lower frequencies. Which are the important frequencies in most disco or dance music. Like I said get the Genelec mic stand it space saving and they can be adjusted to standing height. It’s makes all th

Can studio monitors still be enjoyable in an untreated room if mixing accuracy isn’t the primary goal? Looking for immersion and fun.

I could be all off here — I am not a professional, an expert or anything like that — but no one has mentioned whether you are setting these up as near-field monitors or as room speakers. I’m set up right now with a pair of Genelec 8030c speakers a little more than arm’s length away from where I sit.

Kef q3 meta toe in or not?

Erin Audio Corner recommends to listen 15 degree off-axis. So, if you point the speakers at you (on-axis), and toe them out 15 degrees to remove the diffraction effect typical from coaxial speakers. When I had my LS50 Meta's, I honestly couldn't reliably tell if there was a major difference so I lef
