[OC] Popular sleep trackers vs lab polysomnography

My garmin is pathetically inaccurate for sleep compared to my fitbit charge 5 and then 6 later on. I have an instinct 2.

For serious tracking the H10 is the gold standard in terms of accuracy anyway. You can connect it to anything. I use Garmin Instinct 2 and an H10 for sports. Activity data from all optical sensors is pretty much garbage.

Turns out Garmin Instinct 2 (and others) are e-waste

My first Garmin Instinct 2 got a faulty HR sensor. It would randomly record HR at approx 50% of the actual reading... really skewed some results and made the metrics useless. It was a week within the 2 year warranty so I now have a brand new one free of charge. I read about the issue with the 17.x f

Suunto race 2

I bought a Garmin Instinct 2 after raving reviews from everyone. The Garmin app experience and UX on the watch has been the worst tech device I've used in my life, period. And the HR sensor just died on me and it's not repairable in any way. There are times where others peoples opinion significantly

Coros Nomad versus Instinct 3

Just a bit of interesting information. My 4-year-old Instinct 2 "inhaled" some water and is dying slowly (HR sensor's dead, battery life reduced to 1-2 days). I emailed Garmin, and they proposed a 25% discount if I get the Instinct 3. I just went with the 50mm Tactical, which costs 380 EUR after dis

Rucking For Everyone

I know this is an old thread, but just to clarify some things: The whole point of recording as a ruck natively, is how the metrics are interpreted after the fact. What do I mean: Say you practice many sports, including running. Everything you do is tracked by your garmin, and it feeds into your fitn

Coros Nomad

Necroing this thread, but Garmin also torpedoed many Instinct 2 users. They pushed a firmware update that reduced battery life by about 90% and broke the heart rate monitor for a very sizeable number of users. The cynic in me says it probably targeted people who were out of warranty based on Garmin

Garmin instinct 2 sleep tracking

The sleep tracking is as you can expect from Garmin. Meh at best. Battery etc is also like Garmin. On an instinct 3 weeks with lot of GPS or over a month for daily use isn't uncommon at all.

Best Apple Watch series for heart health monitoring and sleep apnea?

What Garmin device are you using for this? I have an Instinct 2, and it doesn't appear to have breathing variations in the app.

Garmin Fenix Release Patterns: Fenix 9

What are you on my guy? I didn't say the Fenix 7 is better than the 8, I was mostly, deservedly, making fun the Fenix 8 PRO (key on PRO). Quick points: * The Fenix 8 Pro InReach uses the Skylo satellite system which are static satellites and have worse connection, the other InReach devices use the I
