Instinct 2S horrendous battery life - hate it so much after 3 years

The people in this comments are the reason why companies can get away with greed and become so rich... The Garmin Instinct is a very low process computer, which means it doesn't wear on battery as much as other devices like apple watches or phones, it should perfectly be able to last years without b

Instinct 2S horrendous battery life - hate it so much after 3 years

100%. Australia has consumer laws for exactly this stuff. I got my Garmin Instinct 2 replaced recently (~3 years old) because a average consumer would not expect a $400 watch to be bricked due to a dead battery in 3 years.

T-rex 3 vs Garmin Instinct 2

T rex 3 is tougher than Instinct 2. Instinct 2 is plastic watch all around. T Rex 3 has steel bezel. Moreover, Instinct 2 is not built to last. Many users experienced battery degrading quickly (about 2 years before it starts drainig really fast - during just a couple days). Garmin obviously used che

T-rex 3 vs Garmin Instinct 2

Have you seen any images of the Garmin Instinct 2 mapping ??? It’s nothing like the T-Rex 3’s. The Garmin Instinct is a rugged watch, but it’s designed for maximum battery life. The mapping isn’t as detailed or responsive as on the T-Rex 3. You really need to know what you want. I’d recommend the T-

Opinions on what instinct to get

The instinct E is a downgrade compared to the instinct 2s, although it's newer. DC Rainmaker considered the Instinct E as an Instinct 1.5 instead of 3. Don't buy the instinct E, it has poorer battery life, less features and costs more. From another user on reddit - read dcrainmakers review NOBODY sh

Turns out Garmin Instinct 2 (and others) are e-waste

My first Garmin Instinct 2 got a faulty HR sensor. It would randomly record HR at approx 50% of the actual reading... really skewed some results and made the metrics useless. It was a week within the 2 year warranty so I now have a brand new one free of charge. I read about the issue with the 17.x f

[SOLAR] I made a charging station for my solar watches

I can see the advantage of not having to open the watch to replace a battery. Well even a rechargeable battery is just a battery and it will need to be replaced eventually as well. do they hold less charge as they age, and if so are their reserve batteries replaceable? They do hold less charge over

Instinct 2s vs instinct 2

I've never used Garmin pay, I think it's a really niche feature for urban runners that might not be carrying their phone but need to stop for a meal on a run. I have an Instinct 2 Solar but never do any significant solar charging on it. I try to avoid sun as much as I can because the sun's UV is the

The second hand doesn’t turn off until it passes 35 seconds.

It’s very strange that they suddenly changed the timeout for the second hand on the older Instinct 2.I’ve seen many people say their battery drain suddenly got worse in 17.07. And the number 35 is very odd — not 20, not 30, but 35 — and it’s far too long.Garmin clearly messed with something and is r

Non solar Instinct 2 - Worse battery life after recent updates?

Many people on the official Garmin forums are also reporting a sharp increase in battery drain with version 17.07.It's nothing new for Garmin to break a perfectly working watch with an update. Are they intentionally practicing planned obsolescence? This is a crime, Garmin! https://forums.garmin.com/
