My Garmin 265 really has done me wonders in terms of not having to carry too much on a run. I've always hated taking my phone to time anything and the Garmin has been incredibly useful in terms of accuracy of my runs, HR, etc. Measures my sleep data, body battery, and other useful tidbits. You can g

Garmin Forerunner 55 or 165 will do exactly what you need! Honestly I think the whole subscription thing is being a bit blown out of proportion for those of us who stick to the lower price point watches like myself. I have the 165 and it’s phenomenal. Waterproof and has physical buttons so you don’t

DCrainmaker gave the previous race s a great review. he even praised the heart rate sensor! i bought mine off the back of that (and other fittech 'influencers') and was totally shocked by how much of a downgrade it was from my garmin FR55 (yes, really). not in the screen and GPS and that kind of stu

A Garmin Forerunner 55 is a decent cheap smart watch costing around $150 US. No watch is really going to handle skydrol so you have to rinse it off with IPA if it gets contaminated. By smart I mean that is is good enough to stay connected via bluetooth without any hassle and show you texts/incoming

Polar H10 chest strap is the gold standard for accuracy and runs around $80-90. Works with most watches and apps via Bluetooth and ANT+ If you want wrist-based, Garmin Forerunner 55 or Coros Pace 2 are solid budget GPS watches with decent optical HR. Chest straps are still more accurate for zone tra

How about a suggestion slightly at a tangent? Forerunner 55 - the cheapest, most basic running watch Garmin do. I have it and love it. It records all my runs with full GPS and heart rate data, controls the music coming from my phone, integrates with Strava, has basic smart watch usefulness and the b

Not an expert, but I'd recommend the following: Start super slow, like jogging but barely faster than a fast walk. Do that for a minute or two, if it feels really easy speed up a tiny bit. Keep doing that until you reach a point where it feels like "this feels like some effort but I could keep doing

Before you switch make sure you export all your historical data from Fitbit. The API lets you pull everything going back years but once you delete your account its gone. I learned this the hard way when I was considering switching. Garmin has better GPS accuracy from what Ive heard and their API is

for $200 and keeping your whoop, the garmin forerunner 55 or 265 are the obvious choices. gps, hr, pace, lap, all there. but i'd actually push back slightly — if you're 5 years into whoop and love the health metrics, the real thing you're missing isn't a second device. its teh integration between th
