It gets hairy - Denon D2000 biocellulose driver shots
I know this comment is 4 years old but I just did a full refurb on a pair of D2000s. There is a foam damping ring under the ear pads that surrounds the driver. After 20 years this foam ring turns to dust and that foam damping ring is one of the single most essential pieces in creating the D2000s (an

Searching for a complement for my Arya Stealth
I have Arya Organic and they are really great, but for nighttime listening - usually shows and such versus music - I usually end up using either Sennheiser HD660S2 or Fostex THX00 Purpleheart (sometimes but less often Fostex TH900). The Arya's are technical monsters in that the detail is amazing, so

Starting a YouTube channel about Hi-Fi from a bass-head perspective — would love some feedback. Thanks!
Well, there is the abyss 1266, and now isvarna from hifiman, and people still rock fostex th900 for its bass quality. Bass in hifi has my interest. I been meaning to look into iems too for their bass capabilities

New shelves
Yes yes they do mount to the back I will check out the websites suggested. I’ve always wanted to hear other people’s rigs. Man you learn so much when you nerd out with others of the same interest. I’d have to bring my Fostex th900’s. Hands down my favorite audio item I own They just shimmer and shoc

Unpopular opinion. Arya Stealth is the Arya I like the most.
At the time I felt they were slightly more v-shaped with regard to sound in general and provided a bit more detail in the delivery. This is my first experience with planar so I think it was delivering a slightly higher level of detail going back and forth between the two. Now that I have spent a few

Unpopular opinion. Arya Stealth is the Arya I like the most.
I've no experience with the Denon gear, but I know Fostex used to make drivers for their older units (the ones with the headband that looks the same as TH900). The TH900 are pretty surprising, or were for me anyway. They are impressive in my experience. Very bright, punchy, solid representation of a

Not impressed by the Audeze LCD X compared to 150/200$ headphones, am I missing something?
The LCD-X need eq and peace is easier than just the normal for me. I ended up selling my 1770s for other headphones but I did like the beyers decently enough. Once I got the EQ down the LCD-X just walked all over my 1990 and my 1770. I will say the 1770 had what seemed like a lot of bass but it was
