At that price point, Id recommend taking a look at the Flexispot EN1. You can find some good options in this thread

I used a cheap flexispot EN1 for almost 2 years. It was a great value, but not what I wanted in a sit/stand desk for ME. I upgraded to an Apex Pro with a custom top. Built like a tank and more stable than the $2k sit/stand desk I had when I worked in an office. It's worth every penny I paid for it.

The desk is a Flexispot EN1. Good bang for your buck but not end game by any means

It’s a Flexispot desk. I got it used on FB marketplace so I avoided the $200 price tag. But it’s a good stand desk. That sucks, I've purchased 2 flexispot standing desks, EN1 & EN2 and no issues with either.

The Flexispot EN1 I had prior to upgrading was perfectly acceptable given the price I paid. I used it for about 2 years.

The FlexiSpot EN1 is a good budget option, I think its well under $500 now. You can find some good options in this thread

Route and flush IMO. I vote you put it to the edge as well if you can. I did have some flexispot En1s and I attached them basically in the middle to a butcher block as measured from the edge of the angle brackets, and that did work as well.
