Do you have a dog walker?

Dog walker here: if an owner wants to meet me at the park (or even ride along!) they are more than welcome to do so Air tags or Fi Collars are welcomed and encouraged. Some dogs unfortunately sometimes get spooked or wonder off (they are animals after all) and having their location is a godsend in t

Sitter did not notify owner that dog escaped

Reason #9,723,777,521 EVERY dog should own a Fi collar. I know its hindsight, but the owner would hv been able to see exactly when the dog escaped, could hv made the sitter aware that they know and most importantly would hv known within 50ft of where the dog was. Please get your dogs tracker collars

Running Away

Even better, get a Fi collar. AirTags require the dog to be near someone with an iPhone, Fi is satellite real time tracking. It’s obviously more expensive but if your girl is a problem runner it sounds like you need it.

Has your poodle ever run away from home?

We have a Fi collar and it has worked well thus far, as far as peace of mind. It stays charged for weeks, uses GPS or cellular networks to track all the time, and alerts us if our pupper leaves the yard. The company also works with a few other dog collar companies so their device can be put on diffe

Rover sitter lost my dog

I read your post last night, and honestly it kept me up all night. What an absolute nightmare you are having to go through. I’m not in Washington, so there’s not much I can do, but I just want to send positive thoughts and that I am not a religious person but I am praying to who ever that he is foun

Is it unethical to hire a dog walker?

No of course not. I run a pet care business and this is within my scope. Oftentimes, reactive dogs do better with me than they do with their parents. It is BECAUSE of that lack of emotional connection, they sometimes feel less anxiety because they aren’t acting out of protecting me. Sometimes people

Dunno if this is even allowed but I’m severely upset right now.

Is it possible she broke out of your house and not someone broke in? Or are you thinking the neighbors dogs broke in? If she’s free roaming, I’m willing to bet no one is going to break in and go inside after seeing a dog as big as them, more so if she’s protective as you noted… she’s going to bark.

Sitter Lost my dog...

Thats my opinion as well. Your dog was already gone the day the sitter was non responsive to you. Not to mention, who TF walks a dog at 9:48pm on July 4th while fireworks are happening?? Anyway, so happy you got him back. With all the stress you just experienced, please consider either a Fi or Tract

We can’t stop our dog from running away.

Edit: a lot of people are recommending shock collars and electric fences. This is against the rules for this sub. Dogs that run are not deterred by a shock collar or electric fence and it can make them less likely to come back once they do escape. I too have a runner. Here is what has helped in case

GPS Dog Fence for Multiple Dogs

I will forever recommend Fi collars. They only do GPS though and quite honestly, if your dogs are going through the effort to get out of a physical fence, they’re not going to care about a wireless fence. All tracking collars will have their pros and cons. Fi is not as quick to report a dog out of b
