3D Printed Hardtop
If we’re considering just materials alone then yea I clear the cost of most other aftermarket hardtops by a good sum. I bought a printing setup that can churn out all the plastic I need for this project relatively quick which is three printers but I chalked those up to business expenses as I plan on

I just woke up to this…
I would recommend pulling up the Elegoo Centauri Carbon wiki page and start learning how to disassemble your printhead and replace your hotend. I was able to recover from a smaller blob without replacing the entire hot end, but I did have to replace the nozzle. I would advise being very careful unpl

Is the CC2 as bad as returns suggest?
So 20 CC2's. That doesn't seem like a high amount. I wonder where these returns are coming from since Elegoo was selling CC returns themslves. My guess these are from third party retailers like Best Buy or Microcenter in the US and others around the world. Even Amazon might be liquidating return uni

First printed suppressor
I enjoy the options and materials my Centauri Carbon does, as well as not locking you into a slicer ecosystem like Bambu. There was a kerfuffle about FlashForge claiming to work with law enforcement if you uploaded a firearm part onto their design site, so some people are mad about that. Elegoo has

Is the Elegoo Centauri Carbon the best budget enclosed CoreXY right now?
ElegooSlicer is an Orca fork, so familiar territory You can actually just use Orca, it's 100% compatible you have to remove the lid for PLA Actually not, for small prints on the cool plate you can 100% print while enclosed, for bigger prints that take longer time and might need you to bump up the be

CC1 User Asking, Is The CC2 Worth Buying?
Hey there u/Outrageous_Cut2782 I've been doing printing quite a long time and have seen some really bad printers back in the day (looking at you early Makerbots) and seen how far they've come along lately. I never owned the CC1 but I do own the Elegoo Centauri Carbon 2 and have been using it for a l

State of Bambulab, still the No. 1?
TL:DR - if you already have a core x/y enclosed printer with bed levelling and input shaping there is almost no compelling reason to replace it with a similarly featured Bambu unless there is something specific that you can only get from Bambu I have been printing since 2013 when I built my first pr

Yes, another what printer should I get post. But it is a gift for an AV engineer that 3D models and uses things like CAD daily. Does that change things? Budget £250/340USD
The only new machine in that price point that can do engineering filaments is the Elegoo CC. An A1 style printer would be the worst choice for that that specifically. It really depends on what he would be printing more than his experience.

Want to start 3d printing terrain and eventually miniatures for ttrpg, is Bambu Labs x2d the right choice?
I’ll throw a non Bambu suggestion out. Elegoo Centauri Carbon, especially considering its price. Fully enclosed single colour printer with the option to go multi material if you want. It’s been perfect for me with terrain, had some very tidy prints. I’ve chucked a few miniatures (carnifex proxy and
