ELAC Debut ConneX DCB41 for desktop speakers

It is nicer to be able to listen to the choices yourself if at all possible. Bluetooth is compressed and in general lossy and to be avoided if you have Airplay 2 or wi-fi (uPnP, DLNA, Chromecast). HDMI for Tv or computer - most computers support more than one HDMI or DP output.USB for easy control f

Desktop Setup - Gaming / Movies / Work

Hi there. Both Argon Audio and Ruark Audio make good value speakers, so those two are safe choices in my opinion. I can think of a couple more options which you might like, in both looks and sound: Cambridge Audio L/R S - black or walnut ELAC Debut ConneX DCB41 - black ash or walnut Tannoy Gold Seri

Thoughts on this Fluance stack for my first TT set up?

Nope. Get the turntable, lose the rest. My usual first-timer recommendation is: Fluance RT82 ($299) Yamaha A-S301 stereo amp (decent built-in phono stage, $349) KEF Q150 passive speakers ($299) Some folks don’t want a separate amp and would prefer powered speakers. I don’t get much into powered spea

Turntable Setup Recommendations

“Good-looking/stylish” is highly subjective. In that budget I would look at a Fluance RT82($299)—not fully automatic but auto stop, Yamaha A-S301($349) — stereo amp with decent built-in phono stage, and KEF Q150($299) speakers—I personally love the concentric driver design visually and think it look

Need some suggestions for a turntable within 500 dollar budget

What is your whole budget? Here's my "standard" first-timer recommendation: Fluance RT82 ($299) Yamaha A-S301 ($349, decent built-in preamp) Polk ES15 or KEF Q150, $299. KEF are more neutral, Polk are a bit warmer sounding) Total $949 If you already have an amp, or don't want a "big" amp, or want to

Who needs Spotify anyway?

I've got ELAC connex dcb41 as they are perfect size for the space I have, they are quite good to be honest, the x bass setting also helps - i had some edifier ones before but these are better. They are good value though certainly, i wanted maybe some Rokits but they are too big for my desk...

Active vs Passive for 'budget' level speakers for music

There is a point to powered speakers in around your price point at £500. It gives good value for your money (vs passive systems). But you would have slightly easier time upgrading those passive systems, since you wouldn’t need to change everything. These two could be the powered options to consider:

Speaker suggestion needed for difficult room

Thanks for the additional info. So you've got some decent options based on the measurements you provided. As for the speaker stand/wedge, a DIY wood option would be really nice and it would give you the option to do the math to make it with the angle that will be best for your room and position, as

Looking for a fitting stereo setup for my new build

seems like you're looking for speakers with their own internal amplification, known as "active" or "powered" speakers. the new ELAC Connex DCB61's might be worth considering, depending on how much space you have. there is a smaller version (DCB41) if you don't have a lot of desk space. Both have a s
