Newbie setup help

The Edifiers are kind of okay, but they have a few quirks. One is that the two analogue line inputs both feed the same connection on the circuit board. They're not isolated from each other. This means that a live signal on one input bleeds to the other source's output, and in doing that, it creates

I’m in a bit of a pickle

Ok. You should have kept that JVC turntable but I guess you know that already ;-)' But for a beginner you could just get something like: https://www.turntablelab.com/collections/turntable-listening-packages-alpha/products/audio-technica-at-lp70x-edifier-r1280db-turntable-package Or maybe get speaker

Entry level system advice

i helped my nephew with a similar first setup last year. at this budget, going with powered speakers and a basic turntable gives the best value. the Fluance RT80 is a solid starter table that won't break the bank. pair it with something like the Edifier R1280DB speakers which have bluetooth built in

Inclusive, ap

Newbie :D

Please don't buy any of the Fluance decks unless you live in the U.S. or Canada. The aftersales support is very expensive. If there's an issue with the deck, they want you to pack it up and post it back to them in Canada at your expense. Stick to a brand where you can get local support, or buy a dec

(Newbie) is this a good set up/deal?

The basic AT-LP60X is currently on a Prime Day deal for $169. The Edifier R1280db (with Bluetooth) are $139. ($310 total) Prices before Prime were $200 and about $160 ($350). The used deal at $200 is fair.

Looking for recommendations for an entry-level setup with bluetooth capability

That's a lovely thought from you, and very generous. However, you need to know that in the world of record playing equipment, £200 doesn't get you the sort of quality you could be proud of as the gift giver. I know that Amazon would have you believe there's a world of choice. There are pages of play

My girlfriend is being nice

Harsh truth coming in... This is just above trash tier - but only just. It's not worth what they are asking. Turntables track microscopic grooves with a tiny needle, precision and stability are key. Speakers make music by vibrating like a mofo. These two things don't go together - speakers should ne

What do I need to complete my set up?

If you're in the UK, I would recommend that you don't buy Fluance. The aftersales support isn't there. Packing up and posting a turntable back to Canada for any kind of minor issue is going to cost a fat wedge of cash. Besides, without the burden of US tariffs, our other brands are miles better valu

Best affordable soundbar in nz?

Agree with this, did this years ago and gone through a few iterations. Only thing I would look out for is get them with optical input. I get the audio signal from the headphone output of my TV to rca input on the speaker. Opens up possibility of interference and sound pops when the TV turns on. Edif
