Turntable setup upgrade?

You need speakers first, not another turntable. It kind of boggles the mind that you’ve been listening to records through a tiny usb speaker for 3 years. That turntable has a built in pre-amp so get a PAIR of speakers and some stands for them. Your world will drastically change. Get some active spea

What are the best desktop speakers?

If you want the buy once, stop thinking about it picks under $100, I’d keep it simple. Edifier R1280T (or R1280DB if you want Bluetooth) - best all around desktop speakers in this price range solid build good volume won’t randomly annoy you.Creative Pebble Plus 2.1 - cheaper, surprisingly solid and

I’m new to turntables and wondering what I need to get started

That and Edifier - R1280DB And you are set to go for starters Obviously it can go MUCH deeper by getting separate amps, speakers, external phono preamp, subwoofers ects and the likes but for getting started quick, those edifiers will do the job just fine

I’m in a bit of a pickle

Ok. You should have kept that JVC turntable but I guess you know that already ;-)' But for a beginner you could just get something like: https://www.turntablelab.com/collections/turntable-listening-packages-alpha/products/audio-technica-at-lp70x-edifier-r1280db-turntable-package Or maybe get speaker

Looking for recommendations for an entry-level setup with bluetooth capability

That's a lovely thought from you, and very generous. However, you need to know that in the world of record playing equipment, £200 doesn't get you the sort of quality you could be proud of as the gift giver. I know that Amazon would have you believe there's a world of choice. There are pages of play

My girlfriend is being nice

Harsh truth coming in... This is just above trash tier - but only just. It's not worth what they are asking. Turntables track microscopic grooves with a tiny needle, precision and stability are key. Speakers make music by vibrating like a mofo. These two things don't go together - speakers should ne

Looking for advice on budget speakers

If you're new and not really looking for studio monitor flat speakers Id say the Edifier pair linked below. https://www.edifier.com/nl/p/bookshelf-speakers/r1280db Similar size and quality as the other speakers you've mentioned but a pair of these costs as much as your one JBL.

Beginner DJ

I haven't heard many good things about the HDJ-CUE1. Basically any headphones will work to be honest, I'd probably take something like Audio Technica M20x's or M30x's over the CUE1's in a similar price range. If you wanted on-ear headphones, I've been really liking the Rode NTH-50's. You've said you

Speaker help

Nah I'll second this. I've got an Audio Technica LP120 and Edifier R1280DB speakers, both on top of a kallax shelf (but spaced out as much as possible) because that's the amount of space my living situation currently allows for. Would I love to have proper speaker stands? Of course, but I also haven
