"Dash" Cam Recommendations
I tried several cams including Drift Ghost XL, Drift Ghost 4K, and a cheap Akaso 4K action camera. None of them could reliably show a license plate at a reasonable distance. "4K" is almost meaningless I've found... just because it'll output that many pixels doesn't mean they have worthwhile informat

Should I wait?
I would say IF you can wait until the Osmo Action 6 gets a release date (I say this only because the new camera teaser shows a physical aperture which isn't common to an action camera that gets banged around) and reviews then wait! I think it's going to be an absolute slayer of a camera. If you can'

Why not DJI Osmo Action 5 pro Adventure Combo? Unless you really need that 5k I don't think gopro is really worth it... Specially the new ones

You really can't go wrong with either. If you want soemthing with mroe accessories options I'd go ace pro 2. If your after 10bit color and a more professional workflow I'd got Action 5.
