Framework’s CEO on the RAM crisis and creating a “MacBook Pro for Linux users”

I do find this take mad. All my old laptops going back 20+ years were still usable physically just getting slow. I used to tinker with dad's old laptop on win95 and play worms on it in 2000s. It probs still boots if I found it. Laptops flow through the family currently. My 10+ year old dell XPS is b

Apple CEO Tim Cook stepping down, John Ternus confirmed as new Apple CEO

Everything you say is true, except that in laptop hardware, nothing compares to the mac trackpad. Nothing. I bought a second laptop for linux (dell xps) which is better than most, but it’s not even close. Every MacBook i’ve owned has lasted me a decade without issues. They deserve some credit for th

Can someone explain why 2k$+ laptop feels like a cheap plastic toy?

i feel you - been there. a high price doesn't guarantee good build quality on windows laptops. look for words like 'cnc aluminum', 'magnesium alloy', or 'vapor chamber' in specs. dell's xps and latitude 9000 series feel way more solid than inspiron or precision. check out dell xps 13 plus or latitud

Dell XPS 13 9370, I got this bad boy for about 57$ USD

Funny. I just rescued an XPS 15 9500 from the recycle bin at work. Stole RAM from another machine that had two 8GB sticks but had a bad mobo, popped in a $40 Dell OEM battery off eBay, and it works perfectly! It’s spotless. Apparently it died a few months into use and they never do anything with jt

Laptop o PC

AMD vs Intel for Laptops

Maybe a bit out of your price range but the new dell xps looks quite appealing and seems to fit the specs you are looking for. Im giving it serious thought whether to get one to run linux on or just replace my macbook for the new m5. Much prefer linux to mac os though.

Laptops with best touchpad?

I don't know if they have some kind of mechanical patent no other manufacturer can get around, but the ability to have the same amount of pressure to "click" anywhere is definitely an improvement over the diving board design most others use where it requires significantly more pressure to register a

To celebrate Duke3D's 30th anniversary, we successfully held a retro LAN party this past weekend. Pics taken with Sony Mavica.

I love the Dell XPS. And those slim chassis, wish I still have mine left. Another question, so I'm looking for "old" images of lans and stuff to use in a ingame computer magazine, would it be ok if I used one of your images? I can detail you in a PM if you want?

Dell Premium 14/16 decision

I have been in the it industry for close to 30 years, so I feel I have a good handle on what I need internally... I was looking to get some insights on form factor experience. Given the point of comparison is a 2018 model that's two chassis back (the XPS 9570) even the 16" will feel quite a bit thin

1 Year Long Term Dell XPS 16 9640 (Now Dell 16 Premium) Detailed Review

It doesn't sound like you've ever used a haptic trackpad, much less a mac trackpad. There is a certain amount of personal preference to it, like a keyboard, but it can still be measurably good. The tracking is accurate, mouse acceleration curve is good, and the glass surface feels incredible. I have
