i feel you - been there. a high price doesn't guarantee good build quality on windows laptops. look for words like 'cnc aluminum', 'magnesium alloy', or 'vapor chamber' in specs. dell's xps and latitude 9000 series feel way more solid than inspiron or precision. check out dell xps 13 plus or latitud

It doesn't sound like you've ever used a haptic trackpad, much less a mac trackpad. There is a certain amount of personal preference to it, like a keyboard, but it can still be measurably good. The tracking is accurate, mouse acceleration curve is good, and the glass surface feels incredible. I have
