Bag suggestions

My wife uses a Cotopaxi backpack for exactly this kind of trip. Loves it. It still reads “I’m on a trip”, but isn’t too crazy. Throw a small tote or something in for daytime use. https://www.cotopaxi.com/products/allpa-35l-travel-pack-4?colorway=BlueSpruceAbyss

Carry On Luggage suggestions

I can’t be sure but I think you’ll be fine. I used this website to check in the past and it looks like you can squish it to get it to work. Just don’t overpack it and measure before you go. https://squishometer.com/bags/cotopaxi-allpa-35l-travel-pack
