I'm planning to replace my old sony xm4 with a new one as well. Didn't quite like the xm5 or xm6 for build quality and comfort, so I've shortlisted bose qc ultra 2, b&w px8 s2 (wasn't leaning towards the px7 s3 as it uses vegan leather which isn't as long lasting as the real one) and the Sennheiser

Definitely, B&W do need to do better and up this part of headphone line. They demand higher prices, which a lot of areas they do really well, but not this. Most headphones $125 or more are much more durable than this. I haven’t experienced this yet, but am scared though. I just bought the px7 s3 and

There have been improvements to ANC B&W PX8 S2 in comparison to PX7 S3 model and although this ANC feature still doesn’t match up to the Bose or Sony, it is so much improved and the sound quality is notably better than both the Bose and and Sony. As for overall build quality, PX8 is leaps and bounds
