Is there a noise-cancelling software that will stop me from hearing anything in my headphones?

As others said, you will need headphones with active noise cancellation. They work by recording any sound that hits your ears and emitting sound waves that are the same amplitude but exactly opposite in phase, so the two waves cancel out. This must be done directly in the headphones as it requires (

The new neighbors moved in

I actually work at an AI datacenter (albeit one that actually actually follows noise laws and is decidedly away from residential areas.) Its loud enough inside that unless you're wearing active ear pro, you will get instant hearing damage. Granted, that's on site, not at a distance. The jet engine c

Airplane Headphone Recommendations!

you basically have two options and they're both amazing, bose or sony. bose quietcomfort (45 or ultra) is what i'd personally recommend if screaming babies are your nemesis, they're specifically really good at blocking out voices and variable noise. also insanely comfortable for sleeping on flights,

Bose SoundTouch Goes Open Source

I find the sound quality to be great. It's not as great as the Sony equivalents, but for me the QuietComfort 45 II are far more comfortable than the Sony ones. I originally got the Sony whatevers many years ago and returned them because after a couple of hours wearing them, my ears really hurt. I ca

What's a "rich people thing" you discovered isn't actually expensive?

Bose. I mean, they're not cheap. But I was thinking they cost like a thousand dollars. You mean I coulda had noise cancelling headphones while working in a noisy lab this whole time?!? Got myself a pair of QC45's a few years ago for $350 and I use them all the time!

My Adderall works fine for things I HAVE to do, like work, but I still can't bring myself to do things I don't want to do. Like cleaning.

My sleep headphones might not won't work for you but I absolutely adore them. I use Bose QC45 over the ear headphones and adjusted my pillow to accommodate. My old dog gets up to pee at night and used to wake me up. Now I can't hear it. I should mention that I prefer my previous model of the QC45. T

Parhaat kuulookket

Mulla on nyt Bose QC45 "munkit" ja Sony WF-1000XM4 "napit". Ekaa suosittelen kelle vaan varauksetta ja jälkimmäistä, jos ergonomia vaan sopii käyttäjälle. Molemmat on olleet 4v käytössä.

Ultra or Ultra Gen 2?

Unfortunately, there's only 2 options for what I want: Bose & Sony. I refuse to do Sony because of I don't trust their hinge so Bose it is. I don't mind a little bit of app troubles, I already use a QC45 and it's fine.
