Double DAC?
Yes, use optical, the speakers have built in amp and DAC, and likely EQ to optimize the configuration. This is right from their website... Improve your home theater sound with the HD6 by using Bluetooth or optical input. This approach bypasses inferior audio components in your source device, enablin

Audioengine HD6 alternative
You can replace the amp on your HD6. I just did it and it is working fine now. This link is for the Australian site, but I'm sure support will sell you a replacement wherever you are. https://www.audioengine.com.au/products/p/replacement-amp-for-hd6

Got my first turntable today! Excited to play my favorite albums on it.
I’ve got the Audioengine HD6 and love them. Bluetooth with digital-to analog-converter so I can stream Spotify, and built in amp. A few years after purchasing, the Bluetooth only put out one channel. I contacted them and they replaced the “guts” of the speaker for free with the new aptX HD with no h

Please recommend me monitors or active speakers
Why not keep your 305s for your computer, and get a receiver and good passive speakers to hook up to your TV, and you can also use for music? Audioengine makes great powered speakers. I have the A5+ and I love them. They have the HD6 as well. Add in their S8 subwoofer and you're golden (btw, since y

You'll most likely need a subwoofer. The S8 is okay, but the RSL Speedwoofer 10e is generally considered b

PC Setup to Replace Ancient Klipsch 2.1
There's a few ways you can go. First you need to decide if you want active or passive speakers. Personally, I think active speakers are ideal for desktop setups. It just makes life easier, and there are some really good ones out there. Next you need to decide if you want new or used. You're generall

Computer Speakers Recommendation
I'm rebuilding my desk and I got a MacBook Pro, and bought one of those 5k UltraFine monitors. Reason I'm telling you this, is because the monitor and the laptop only has thunderbolt / usb c connections. I also don't want tons of amps / receivers hanging around my desk. I just want something simple
