That's interesting. I'm not an audiophile I just wanna game, but I stepped up from an hd 280 to an ath-ad700x. The audio technica seemed to respond very well to an eq but the 280 was kinda meh. I am not sure what is wrong with your Dt770 but it is closed back headphone. It means headphone has narrower soundstage and it makes harder to get sound cues in cs2. You should choose headphones with wider soundstage and good mids. Wide soundstage give you better positional audio and you can estimat
