Time for new router

If you want to stay with ASUS, some good upgrade options to WiFi 6 include ASUS RT-AX86U Pro (if available in your region, otherwise just AX86U), or ASUS RT-AX58U (RT-AX3000) for a lower cost option. For WiFi 7: If you don't need the 6ghz band of WiFi 7 then ASUS RT-BE58U is a good entry level route

RT-BE58U vs. RTBE82U for 2.4 GHz?

They are very similar: https://www.asus.com/my/product-compare?ProductID=26424,30794&LevelId=Networking-IoT-Servers-WiFi-7 Main differences: RT-BE82U has five 2.5gb ports and a 4x4 antenna for 5ghz (instead of 2x2 on RT-BE58U). They are both dual-band WiFi 7 routers (2.4ghz & 5ghz bands) with the sa

UK DSL Router / Wifi 6 Needed?

Even FTTC should be getting you better available speeds than what you got. It's hard to imagine they're running DSL from the fiber on the curb to your home. You should get a decent router regardless of your Internet speed, for a few reasons. First, longer term firmware support. Buying a NEW WiFi 5 r

Should I bother updating home network to mesh routers (wifi7)?

I just did this. Was running 5 google wifi pucks gen 1 all hardwired around our 1964 lathe and plaster house. Upgraded to Sonic 10g. After some research I went with Asus BQ16 Pro 2 pack. One each at the opposite corners of the house and then one ASUS RT-BE58U WiFi 7 BE3600 for the garage, all wired

Routers?

I got the Asus RT-BE58U yesterday. It’s dual band WiFi 7 and not full tri-band but I don’t mind for 150$ on Amazon. The coverage is very good. I’m getting 200 to 700mbs on my iPhone around the house. The Nokia router was struggling on WiFi like many said.

Best Cheap & Simple Router recommendations

A mid-range ASUS router or GL.iNET Flint 2 (if you are OK with the manufacturer being in Hong Kong/China). Mid-range ASUS router examples: WiFi 6 - RT-AX55, RT-AX58U, TUF-AX3000. WiFi 7 - RT-BE55, RT-BE58U. Both of those are dual-band WiFi 7 (2.4ghz/5ghz). If you want tri-band WiFi 7 you'll need to

Router recommendations for my two story town house?

Summary: I think ASUS is marginally better than TP-Link from a security perspective, and ASUS has poor tech support. But there are better options (example - Ubiquiti) if you are willing to pay more. ASUS's closest competitor to the TP-Link BE3600 ($86.99) is the RT-BE58U ($97.99), but the ASUS lacks

Router Help

For your setup (3300 sqft, 2-story, gigabit, 40+ devices), I’d look at the ASUS RT-AX58U or the RT-BE58U. The AX58U is a solid Wi-Fi 6 router that handles a lot of devices well and supports AiMesh if you ever want to expand. The BE58U is Wi-Fi 7 and more future-proof but still comes in under $100. B

Any actual good wifi routers (please)?

I've had an ASUS XT8 mesh system for approaching 5 years (in June). So technically 4 years and 8 months. Still working well. Seems to me longevity and reliability are most important to you so so I think XT8 is a solid pick. You could buy a single XT8 for $175.58 on Amazon. It's WiFi 6 and has good c
