My 7th grader doesn’t have a phone
No! Stay firm! My 7th grader doesn’t have a phone and many of their friends do not either - though Apple Watches are popular as a way to text and see their location. Hold off as long as you can. No one regrets waiting, plenty of people regret giving it too early.

Watches?
I have both. Please do yourself a favor and buy a Garmin. Period. And don't be one of these guys who keeps pondering this every day. Waste of time. Apple Watch (Ultra) is only worth it for most people if you have family that is heavily connected in the ecosystem and you call a lot from your watch, e

AWU3 vs Garmin Fenix 8 - losing my mind over this GAS spiral 😅
My bet is with LTE, you’ll find you start leaving the phone behind. I do miss taking photos on runs, mainly races. My solution for that will probably be Meta glasses. I already were sunglasses and Shokz. I could consolidate the sunglasses and Shokz into one and also gain a camera. I was with gaming

I was in this situation few weeks ago.. i bought forerunner 970 and sent back my apple watch ultra 3. I used ultra 3 for like 25 days and below are my thoughts. How do you keep track of the pace if you don't have tech watch?
I have a running belt called a FlipBelt. Has a front zippered pocket and several other pockets. One has a clip for keys. I love it. I have a big pro max phone. It fits fine. No one would know I have the belt on if I’m wearing a shirt. Doesn’t give you access to real time stats while you run, unless

Insurance switched me from the Libre 3+ to the Dexcom G7. It's like coming out of the dark ages.
Thanks for the detailed comparison! The only Dexcom device I’ve seen was one that required a separate reader device, but if this can read directly to iPhone and Apple Watch, I’m sold. Can you walk away from your phone with the Dexcom if you’re still wearing the watch? That was one of my biggest beef

Garmin converts…convince me to keep my AWU3
I switched and kept the AWU3. I run and ride (mountain/road/indoor)…about 40-50mpw running and about 2-3hrs riding. I love everything about the awu3 you wrote for running. I dont find the Garmin stats that useful for training so I’m purely going off pace, distance, time and HR data which get logged

Why no dedicated TouchID device?
It seems safe enough for Apple to allow Apple Pay on the watch without requiring a passcode input. If security is that much of an issue for you, you’re not limited to a 4-digit code on your Watch. If you use an iPhone to unlock your Watch, it’s possibly the only passcode-protected Apple device that

Should Apple make a Whoop-competitor band too?
Been waiting for this too. Recently got an analog watch bc I was tired of always being connected and looking like everyone else that had the AW. Got the Whoop, for now, but would absolutely jump at an Apple band if created.
