M3 MacBook Air - sent in for repair, Apple repair suddenly claims a new issue water
I had a MacBook pro that lived on a dock mounted to the back of a monitor, sent it in to apple due to a fan failure and they claimed liquid damage.

A girl and her Thinkpads
How are you running Sequoia on a thinkpad, apple won’t even let me install it on my 2015 MacBook Pro

Why are we having to quality check new parts now... it's getting worse.
Here's how I was shipped a $750 refurbished MacBook Pro (not from Apple). Power cord/brick in a box and the computer had the thinnest bubble wrap ever all tossed in a box big enough to fit 4 computers.

Laptops sold in the EU now required to ship with USB-C charging The European Union’s common charger directive came into effect back in December of 2024 and required most new portable electronic devices to ship with a unified USB-C connector.
it depends, in the past manufacters like apple have burried their usb-c connectors making them much harder to repair. However on laptops build with better repair ability in mind like the Framework Laptops and Macbook Neo (somehow) USB-C. With the macbook neo the USB-C ports are modular meaning when

OCLP team announced they can not commit to an OCLP update for Tahoe
I’m going to be straightforward since I work at a big tech company where we’re now in the process of collecting and disposing all Intel MacBook Pro laptops from 2019-2020. MacOS Tahoe runs like absolute dogshit on these Intel Macs. In JAMF (MDM) system logs collected, we have found these Macs to ent

steam kills my computer
Pretty sure that the MacBook Pro with an i9 in it was the definition of “don’t game on me or I’ll melt”. They are known to thermal throttle even under light loads, since Apple decided to saddle that power hungry monster of a cpu with a tiny-ass cooling solution that could barely keep an celeron unde

Disappointment is Immeasurable - Need help
Sounds like you had some pretty bad luck. Reality is every laptop vendor - Even Apple, Dell, Lenovo, and HP - Have manufacturing defect and failure rates. My own bad luck with laptops happens to be primarily with Dell and Apple (multiple prematurely failed MacBook Pros). The chance I gave System76/C

OH MY GOD I CAN NOT BELIVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED
It can happen, all the same as a car deciding to die in traffic for example. We all can't see the future unfortunately, and we all cant have the cutting edge new stuff. When I was in college for my associates (in-person), my MacBook Pro 2015 randomly decided to shutdown during class. Prior to that i

MacBook Pro - M5 Pro or Max?
The MAX is a waste in any "MacBook" at this point in over 5 years of working with Apple Silicon setups in my own personal experience. This is my opinion and others are welcome to disagree, but it's my opinion at this point. It really only makes sense performance/price ratio, when a Mac Studio. Even

MacBook Pro With Touch Screen and New Mac Studio Likely 'Postponed'
The first Apple silicon M1 MacBook Pro 2020 was a big jump but arguably nowhere near a great of a machine as the second release with the M1 Pro’s with the redesign in 2021. But more importantly I think they’re referring to the redesign with the butterfly keyboards with intel CPU’s as that was a terr
