My Mac M1 sucks for Editing
https://t2m.co/SiliconMacBuyersGuide That budget? What I wrote stands (and I wrote the article for this subreddit) “I want the cheapest desktop – but it needs to be functional.” MacMini M4 (not Pro) @ $1,399• M4 Stock 10-Core• 32GB RAM• 1TB SSD• Three Thunderbolt Ports Seriously, don’t buy the botto

My Mac M1 sucks for Editing
Dont get a fucking laptop if you are trying to maximize your budget. Get a Mac M4 Mini and spec it out with 32GB of RAM and the biggest SSD you can afford and go on with your life. The M4 eats up 4k 120FPS h.265 footage like it is nothing

How much would you pay for a trash can in 2025?
The only reason do this is for the funsies. I scored one for $200 shipped, 12-Core / 64 GB / D300 in a bulk listing where it was a lottery for the GPU config, some people got D500s and D700s. It did do AI and Logic Pro better than the ram starved M1 Mac Mini with only 8 GB of RAM. I suppose if you w

How is the cheapest Mac Mini setup the best option?
The guys buying base M4 Mac Mini are not the guys buying every year a new iPhone Pro.96% of people are fine with 16 GB RAM and you have 5 USB-C ports for external storage.I would rather buy every Mac Mini CPU upgrade with the base version than getting a $1000 version never upgrading because it was s

Mac mini ram future proofing, is it stupid?
Exactly my thinking. If you think the base M4 Mac Mini will suit your needs for now, absolutely get that, and then when the time comes that you need more, but whatever is the latest model at that time. You can probably even sell your existing Mac Mini at that time, and you'll end up saving money in

Base M4 Mini for $499 - any good?
The M4 mac mini is a killer machine. If you are used to a "barely running" windows machine you will immediately see a massive difference. I have a MacBook Pro (i9) and it's pretty good; the M4 is even faster The only downside is that the ARM processor won't run a lot of older apps, so check what you

M4 Mini or mini pro
Note: A base M4 Mac mini can only be configured with 16, 24, or 32GB RAM. To get 48GB RAM, you must select the M4 Mac Mini Pro. Normally I’d say go with the M4 Mac Mini Pro, but with 48GB RAM it’s a 12 core CPU, 16 core GPU machine for $1799. Blender will run better with more GPU (as well as RAM), a

What is the best minipc brand now widely loved on the market? (Beelink, AceMagic, Geekom, GMKtec, Minisforum, Aoostar)
Reliable brands are Beelink, Intel/Asus NUC, Apple Mac Mini, GMKtec, Geekom, and to some degree Minisforum. Within the $400 to $600 USD price range, are my recommendations: GMKtec K6 at $490 on Amazon. Ryzen 7 7840HS CPU and Radeon 780M iGPU, 32 GB of DDR5 RAM, 1 TB of SSD storage, and Wi-Fi 6E. Bee

Is the Mac Mini a success story for Apple?
agreed, I will say however that the base model for the M4 mac mini starting at 16gb this time is a step in the right direction.
